Interesting post drew.

@ lone wolf - my dose of casein hydrolysate is about 15g, I think because of its awesome absorption you don't need anymore. Not sure on the ibcaa dose, whether you don't need as much or not. Dextrose is about 30g

Right, I've been using 30g dextrose, 20g CHY & 5g IBCAA intraworkout for a week now.

Taste's neutral as fook, everything seems to cancel everything out so it's very easy to sipp on.

Can't give any sciencey feedback, but I am not flagging near the end of the session anymore (thumbs up gif can't be arsed searching)

Drew, thoughts on using BCAA between meals to keep the goodness going strong? I read an article by Layne Norton promoting this approach?

                Sorry for the slow reply,

to be honest I don't know and, really I don;t think anyone does. Mechanistacally it seems you need the leave off for a bit in terms of intake to get the levels to drop (even with Leu) to get that punch of anaobilsim and this sems to be more than a couple of hours.

On the flip side just passing more protein/AA's through the system is going to help push you in the right direction.

I think there's an argument for doing to but really I don;t think you would be making the most of what is an expensive product/commodity so I would usually just go with whey.

                  Thanks Drew,

I usually tend to eat larger meals every 4 hours, so in between these feedings, consuming a whey shake, or protein blend would be a good way to bridge the gap as is were.

Do you think it would be better to just stick to BCAA around the training window, and stick to my protein shake between meals as mentioned above instead to keep my body ticking over during a cut.
I love the smell of steak in the morning...

For the relative cost I would go for a protein blend inbetween meals personally.

Actually if you're able to hit your intake targets without it I would try with for a month and then without (adjusting meals of course). 20-25g whey between meals should be plenty.

The other option is a la 'pulsing' to have it 15 mins before meals.

Obviously whole energy intake and how it divides up between different food choices is huge, we're talking a few % here but as I say it might be that achieving a low level or amino acids in the blood may in some ways be as important at achieving high levels at others - and an intake between meals will inhibit this.
