is more better?
01 February 2012 13:01

lads, I've sorted my first aas cycle and have been advised that 250mg will be enough for the first cycle - as I'm 40 now my natty test levels will be lower and was advised that 250mg each week will be more than enough to give me high test level. the guy offering the advice is a seasoned BBer & says as he gets older (mid 40s) the less he takes - i think the reasoning is if your natural test is high you will need to introduce a greater amount of synthetic to have an impact but if it's low then less is required. does this make sense? I have read some old posts where 250mg per week was often suggested as a first cycle but lately it seems 500mg is the standard. i was planning sust 250mg either once a week or every 5 days - what's your thoughts?

500mg test is the standard for most like jack, if you choose to use 250mg then e5d min not ew imo, your blood concentrations from sust will be more level with 2jabs per week as toobig has said mon+thurs, still no harm in e5d if thats what you want to do tho, but 500g seems to be the sweet spot for most, you will defo gain better from 500mg ew, and the question is more better? only to an extent imo ie i think 500mg is far better than 250mg ew but 1g isnt that much beter than 500mg ew interms of gains ime 500-750mg test e ew is my range, for a 1st cycle id defo say 500mg ew

It's a sliding scale really of gains vs side effects, Ye pumping bucket loads of gear into you will improve gains but there comes a point where the side effects more than out weigh the gains. As to taking less as you get older that depends on how much muscle your carrying over what your natural test levels can support, as you get older your natty test drops I'd say theoretically you would need more test to hold on to muscle? I dunno I'm not a biologist but a good point for debate maybe. Minger

doesnt estrogen raise in males as they get older as the test drops causeing there fat gain and muscle losse, so an milder AI and/or anti-e combo may be a good idea, also trt

thanks for the feedback - yeh Minger it made me think too, I thought the less you have the more you will need to get back up to normal levels & then even more to exceed them. @stone14 - i have thought of this - i'm a bit of a stranger to the doctors so it might be worth going in for an MOT anyway - will i have to play to the usual symptoms of low test, or just rock up & say i'm getting old gimme some tests?

More is better, but as mentioned, sides play a big part. go 500mg for first cycle. Wasting your time with 250mf IMO.

I'd go 500 a week split into 2 jabs, and if get bad sides like heart palpitations after a few weeks drop down a bit or start spacing the jabs out. But to be honest it all effects people differently, 500 would be too much if going on for a long time lie trt but 250 would not be enough for a cycle. Test e takes forever to kick in (in terms of gains) not that you have stated that is what you will be taking.

went to docs today - just said i haven't been feeling myself etc spoke of some of the symptoms of low test but found it hard to lay it on too thick. i'm having bloods done on thurs & a follow up appt nxt week he gave me a questionnaire about depression & asked me if i considered hurting myself - i just can't play up to that image - i'm a happy go lucky type person & rarely worry about things - stuff has been on top of me lately, both of my sisters have split from their long term relationships and because we don't see/rely on our dad much they tend to cry on the only stable man in their lives ie me but that's another story. top & bottom of it is the talk of test levels didn't come up & i wasn't going to push it - i would rather fork out the cash & self medicate than have my records show me as depressed. especially as i've just applied for my shotgun license. i'll keep you posted about my blood work
