Do you think it is a type of hiit? there are lots of explosive burst coupled with rest between rallies.

I've never played it, but from what I've seen... yeah I'd probably consider it a form of HIIT.  Not exactly controlled and timed, but it has intervals and is high intensity cardio!

I played Squash at League level for 2 years...  It kept me in superb condition and kept the fat off.. HIIT or not I don't know, but stick at it, it's a superb game...

I'd say it is, anytime I've ever seen it played it's at a frantic pace and you'd work up a sweat in no time. Fantastic for fat loss I reckon.

            Funny I should read this.

I'm taking up squash again I think very soon and was pondering if I could fob it off as HIIT!

You'll be surprised how much you sweat in 40 minutes. It's a great way to lose weight and the time fly's by.

I enjoy playing racketball though I'm not very good.
I'm sure this is the reason for looking and feeling like a dead duck at the end of the session.
My friend on the other hand (who is very good) is still running round fresh as a daisy.
