Ok, lets start from the beginning.  If you need to put on weight, then you need to consume more calories than you burn off.  If you are not putting on weight, then you are not eating enough.  Even if you think you are eating like a horse, you quite simply, are not eating as much as you need to be.

step 1. Check your diet and eating habits.

Routine, yes, you need to be lifting. If you go for a weight that you can barely lift, you are going to injure yourself!  Go for a weight that you can do 8 reps (repetitions) with, and do 3 sets of these.  If you manage all 8 reps on all 3 sets, then the next time you do that exercise, increase the weight a little.  You could call this a 3x8 based routine.  Alternatively, you could do 5x5 (5 reps for 5 sets).  Chest, neck and arms?  What about your legs?  Do not neglect the squat and the deadlift in your routine!  You could work different body parts on different days, for example:
    1. squat/bench press/ military press/ tricep extension
    2. Deadlift/BO Rows/Shrugs/Curls

step 2.  Routine.  Quantity is not necessarily better.

Step 1 will not work on its own, and step 2 will not work on its own. They need to work together.
A diet should be like a woman.
Clean enough to be healthy, but dirty enough to be happy...

As dcurzon said above eating is a massive part of adding weight and buidling muscle, if your not getting enough food you wont grow,
look for a cheap weight gainer, I use Optimum Health Ultimate one and top it up with a scoop of their whey protein also and have 2-3 of these a day to top up meals, 1 in morning 1 after workout and 1 before bed with Milk to slow the absortion.

As far as your routine is concerned depending on what your looking for you should go for
Heavy weights-low reps = build mass and strength
Low weights-high reps = Tone and weight loss.

And I am suprised that someone who is just starting out has even considered Dianabol (pink tablets) in my opinion you should really get your diet and routine started before considering Roids.

Hope this helps mate, pm me if you want to know anything more but the guys on this site will help you no end as they have done with me.

      Good luck

It's takes time, you will just need to learn to be patient.

A decent diet, decent routine and rest is what is needed.

If getting big was as easy as you make it sound then everyone would be doing it.
Simple answer to your question is there is no quick way to get big,
you should look at a training plan of about 2-3 months and expect to grow by a half stone in that time,

You won't, if that's your outlook. You need patience, it takes YEARS.

Hi Ratty Mate, I'm fairly new here and my advice regarding training would be limited.  But I've found there are some excellent beginner articles if you have a look in that section on the right hand side of the screen.

If you follow one of the simple 3 day split plans using free weights and a bit of machine work, you wont go far wrong.  Get the form spot on until your totally comfortable with the weight then start slowly increasing it.  I have found being a bit of a novice the timing and form of the weights is more important than the actual weight your lifting at the beginning.  As say for me I would be thinking i'm doing a bench press but I'd be working my arms/shoulders/wrists more than working on my chest.

As for the motivation side if you start eating smaller frequent meals you'll feel healthier and your body will be getting the fuel it needs.  The shakes idea above sounds like really good advice its something i've been doing and seen better results.  Your drip feeding your body food/protien, I think Omega 3 is an excellent supplement too.  It helps you focus and once you start seeing some results use that to motivate yourself some more, setting yourself achievable targets.

                  Good luck with it.

As CK said with that outlook you wont get far, it takes years of breaking physical and mental barriers. You have to want to do it for good reasons and push yourself to the next level. If you really want to achieve anything in weightlifting you are going to have to become motivated.

So you done a 2 month cycle of dianabol before you started training?
