15 eggs - just the egg whites - 120g protein?

doesn't add up? egg white ~3g protein per egg

Sorry my mistake. I've calcualted it on the whole egg including the yoke.

You are looking at about 4g of protein per egg white, average egg as around 7.5g including yoke but slightly more in the white.

So 15 egg whites is only 60g so not so much a bargain source of protein.

Agreed - 1.8kg of tuna x 6 for about 20 quid isn't bad either! Also cashews and almonds by the kg for about a fiver, love the place! 


One other thing if you can't get to bookers in tesco if you go to the 'make your own salad' bit they have plain tuna, and you can fit a lot into one of the large trays which are £2.50 - not a bad option on-the-go!

Boookers in cambridge is quite small, compared to others apparently, but still big enough for me to over spend :)

 


 

Tell me about it - I now have 1kg cashews, 1kg almonds and around £50 worth of spices - but I will never have to buy small things of spices for the next year lol

Not sure if it varies by branch but this is certainly NOT the case at the Slough branch - was a real ballache getting a card when we started up as they need a passport photocopy and 2 utility bills at the business address. 


On a plus note they had a special on the frozen chicken breasts yesterday - 5kg for under £20 which is around 20-25 breasts

Aldi do 185gram tins for 45p each

Asda often have some sort of deal on tuna, can't remember the exact offer but it pretty good.

Nit as good as Lidl though, thats amazing!

Tesco Value steak Rump and Sirloin. They have been doing it a few weeks and it kind of makes eating steak affordable. They sell roughly 400g of Rump for £3.20. Ive been freezing half a pack and eating 200gs at a time :)

according to packaging each pot has 3 portions of veg.  my pot of choice is the indian daal curry 380g ( 360 cal, 35g protein, 30g carbs).

Sainsburys Basics Tuna Chunks 185g - 45p a can.

This stuff tastes and seems fine.  I was comparing the nutritional value on the labels of the tuna to the more expensive tins and it was virtually the same.

I Do what I like and I like what I do.

1. Tesco Stewing Steak for 4.98 pounds/ kg . I Put these in the pan and they are amazing and tender
2. Tesco frozen spinach 1kg for less than 1 pound
3. Tesco Pork liver: 23 g protein and 3 of fat + **** loads of B vitamins for 1.43pounds /kg ... This means 31 pence for 50 grams of top quality protein!!!!!!

4.  Tesco frozen turkey about 2 kg for 6 pounds but very tasty and lean

5.  Tesco cooked mussels. 170g for 70p (reduced from 1pound)... Amazing cheap source of zinc, iodine and other minerals!!!
