220x6, very nice reppage.. I remember your PB being 250 for high reps? When you going to qualify for the Brits? I will probs pop to the Brits this year, its only a short drive from my dads.

Question with the competing mate, what are views on knee wraps in the unequipped? and how useful/important are they to me at such a stage? Should i be using them, or keep them till im shifting heavier weights. I know they arent a magic cure/shortcut of such so just wondering.

Dave- Sure thing bud! Just bought myself some wrist wraps, but maybe I can think of summit cheap and cheerfull ;) SH- 250x5 (paused but not re-set), unfortunatly never put this on the platform per se. I qualifyed a couple of weeks ago at my divisonals CF- Cheers. Solid, solid. Owen- Knee wraps are not allowed in unequipped meets.

Your about to get a txt 27/12/09 Bench press; barx15 60x5 70x4 80x4 90x4 100x3 110x2 120x4 120x4 120x4 120x4 120x4 120x4 Squat; barx10 60x5 100x4 145x4 165x2 185x4 185x4 185x4 185x4 185x4 185x4 Leg curl- 8x3 Side cable bend- 10x3 Nice session today. Bastard had for a 'top set and done' kinda of lifter. Tech on the bench wasn't the best. Just couldn't seem to get tight enough. Still plenty of power on the first reps. Squat however had spot on tech. Best session yet since back at it. Honestly thought I may not make 6 sets of squats s the benching took a lot out of me but did it with maybe one more set in the tank. Good times!

Danke Dave. 29/12/09 Squat; barx5 65x5 105x3 145x2 165x2 185x2 185x2 185x2 185x2 185x2 185x2 Bench press; barx20 60x5 80x3 100x2 110x2 120x2 120x2 120x2 120x2 120x2 120x2 Push press; barx5 40x5 50x3 60x3 70x3 80x1 60x8 strict Face pulls- 20x2 Cable curls- 20x2 Foam rolling etc. I hurt. I hurt yestarday, I hurt this morning. I hurt when I warmed up and I hurt when I squated. Anyway solid session today. Did the work without much mental stress. Squats were slow but happy to do em with tidy tech and finishing with my hamstrings still attached to my body. Bench was better as pecs aint as sore. Infact last 3 sets were the best. Last double was 2s pauses and they were sweet. Didn't have anything on the push press though, and wimped out a little. Still did some work which is the main thing. It's gona be tough to always be able to go hard on these after a big session at the weekend. This is gona be 'par du course' at the beginibng of the week as I'll be doing the hardest squat session at the weekend then with only a days rest be doing the this lower volume/lighter session. But it's all about building up the work capacity so groovy. I think this weekend squat/bench session is doubles again to give a breather for the 6x6 session next weekend. Deadlifting down Catts tomorrow provided the weather behaves!

Cheers for doing the vid and pic duites Boar! 30/12/09 Last session of '09 year down Catts with Boar. Got to dig the memory for all the reps etc but did; Deadlift; 60x5 100x3 140x3 160x3 180x1 200x1 220x1 235x4 Tire deadlift (no idea of bar+tire weight); bar + tire x3 +1 plate per side x 3 +2 plates per side x1 +3 plates per side x1 +4 plates per side x1 +5 plates per side x1 Dumbbelll rows; 88lb x 5 120lbx 5 140lbx 5 150lbx 5 200lbx 4/5 Loverly session on wed. Aim was for a tripple on top set of pulls but happy with a well fought 4. This is def getting close to my best. I am re-setting each rep now instead of pausing and going which makes it a bit harder repping. Tire deadlift was very cool, really enjoyed it. Bit disappointed with last singles was not set up well and I windmilled it up a tad but it was pretty much a max effort, and dodn't hitch. Can only guess the bar weight is 250-260? Finished with soem nice rowing. Catts have some nice old fshioned dumbbells. Just the lump of iron affair which is nice. Had to have a go at the 200 pounders and did some meaningfull ROM with them but they weren't pretty! Great to catch up with Boar and train.

3/1/10 Bench press; barx15 70x5 80x5 90x2 100x2 110x1 120x2 120x2 120x2 120x2 120x2 120x2 Squat; barx5 60x5 100x3 145x2 165x2 185x2 185x2 185x2 185x2 185x2 185x2 Pullthroughs- 12x3 Abb rollouts- 10x3 Foam rolling etc Solid session. A tad sluggish today but smart enough to get the job done without any bother. These 2x6 @ 80% are getting routine now which is the point I guess. Next week is last week were both session are @80%. Monday, then down Oxford Uni Gym for 6x6 session. Which is gona be tough!!

6/1/09 Deadlift; 70x5 120x3 140x2 160x2 180x2 200x1 220x1 242.5x4 (kinda pb) Pin pull (knee height); 200x2 220x2 240x2 260x2 280x2 Various lever pulldonws or rows- 10x5 Foam rolling etc Quality bit of deadlifting today. The DL mojo is back!! You could make an argument that this is pretty much as good a deadlift training set as I have done. The 250x5 was done with a pause but no re-set. This was done all re-set. I don't think I am up to my best but it's close. Pin pulls were from an awkward height. Bar on the front of the patella feels stuck out there. Still solid top double. Just finished with some light upper back work and some painfull foam rolling! Vids are loading

Cheers guys! Down at Oxford Uni Powerlifting Club today. Very nice set up. 9.1.09 Squat; baxr10 barx10 60x5 100x5 120x3 145x2 165x2 185x6 (a gift pb) 185x6 185x6 185x6 Bench press; barx10 60x5 75x5 90x5 100x2 110x1 120x6 (=pb) 120x6 120x5 GHR- 6x2 Sumo deadlift- 180x2 Deadlift- 185x5 Power shrug (off the floor)- 190x3 Excellent session today. On paper it was 6x6 @ 80% but I realised this was gona be a tall order indeed. Squats were very good and gave my all. Got to 4 sets before it was time to call it a day. Couple of hig/borderline reps in there, but felt very nice. 185x10 would be a goer for sure. Benching was nice. Bench was a tad too high for me. No probs though and I started strong. However I faded pretty fast and the third set was a full on max of 5. Still it was a nice 3 sets of benching. Was gona finish after GHR but the rest of the guys were deadlifting so joined in at the end! I didn't get my full number of sets but did ebnough and was very happy with some improved condition. Early '07 when I was squating 500lbs unequipped I remember a session were I did 190x5 then faded to 190x3. So 6x4 @ 185 is good going. Looking forward to ramping the load up next week. Again I may not go for every set on paper but it's gona be fun!!! All in all had grand old time and very nice to train with the guys down there. Hope to make it down again this end of the year.

Cheers Mr M. I have done 300x2 from that height and 365 from just above the knee :) Pin/rack/block pulls are great. However personally I rarely pull from as high as my knees, as my lockout is good enough. Under the knee of upper shins are a good place. If you struggle at lockout rotations of just under knee and mid/upper shins will help.
