Wrist injury how long does it take to heal?

I sprained my wrist about 3 weeks ago, the sharp pain seems to have gone but when puttin my hands in front of me with my my arms extended and my pals facing out wards and rotating i feel the pain.

How long does it usually take for a sprain to heal on a wrist?
I sprained my left one 2 months ago and it took 2 weeks to heal but for some reason my right one seems to be taking longer to fully recover.

I remember going to the hospital when i did my left one and i remember the tests the doctor did to check if i had broken any bones. i performed the same tests on my right one and it seems to pass. I guess u can never tell unless u have an X-ray.

But back to the point of sprains, how long do they usually take to fully heal?
What can i do to help it?
Heat sprays/creams or Cold sprays/creams?

Whenever Ive had them its usually take close to 3 weeks to heal properly unless v.bad ones.. Try to work around it in the gym, and preferably stay away from heavy benching and dips, or anything where wrist bends back with alot of weight, if need be strap it up good and proper

how longs a piece of string sadly... it can vary depending on what injury you've actually sustained.

if you hold out your arm straight, parallel to the floor.... hold out your hand in a 'halt' position

    wiggle your fingers

    does it hurt the wrist?

if you place the hand/arms in the same position and press against a wall (like a standing push up), does it hurt?

I dont feel any pain at all when doing that or when doing the standing push up.

I feel the pain when standing in the standing push up position so my fingers are pointing up to the sky then when i rotate my hands outwards so my fingers point to the floor thats when i feel it.

i am in the same position. been over two months now and not much better. the doc just looks at it and gives me anti inflams (dicloflex i think). got so pissed off now that i am gonna try and go through my bupa at work and have it looked at. am too scared to train as it is easy to hurt it again. so am now about 15 lbs down too, very unhappy but i know the best thing to do is wait it out.

I think i am just going to get my self a good wrist support to wear and stay out of the gym a little longer.
I think its taking longer for my right wrist to heal because its the hand i use all the time.
when i initially felt the pain i was unable to pick up a light dumbell without it hurting but after my session on monday it didnt hurt at all.
i will stay out of the gym a lil longer just in case.

i sprained my wrist badly about a year ago, i used wrist straps for support and still trained. I'm not sure i totally recomend this though as it still felt slightly uncomfortable.

Definitley rest it for a little while and ease yourself back in, the wrist straps are worth thinknig about.
