Ronaldo was having a walk in the park in la liga before he got injured without doing nothing special at all.

The EPL is far stronger throughout.

Thats why we had 3 english teams in the semi finals  of the UCL for the last 2 seasons and had an all english final the year before last.

My mum would have a walk in the park playing alongside Kaka and co.

EPL is strong but not as good quality as La Liga. This is underlined by 7 out of the top 10 players in the world playing in La Liga and Spain being the best team in Europe.

I'm sure the vast difference in tax laws have something to say about the majority of the 'best' players playing in La Liga.

You first judged it on Barca beating United over a 90 minute match.

The english teams recently have dominated the latter stages of the UCL this shows our league is stronger.

Re-read the posts.

Barca >>> United
Spain >>> England
Top players in La Liga >>> Top players in EPL

Therefore La Liga >>> EPL

EPL>>> La Liga.

Gonna have to agree with Mak. When Uefa get worried because of EPL teams are dominating the Champions league instead of other European teams you have to admit the EPL is the best.

However some would claim the spanish league is more entertaining.

Each to their own.

Where did my reply go?

La Liga teams have won the ECL more times than EPL teams.

They have been in more finals than EPL teams.

A La Liga team won the last tournament, beating the best EPL team very comfortably.

More top players play in La Liga. Their national team are the best in Europe.

Barca would beat Chelsea
Real V Arsenal 50-50
MUFC would beat Sevilla
Valencia would hammer Spuds
Mallorca > Villa
City would beat Deportivo 19-0

I guess if you include MCFC I will accept that the EPL is ****ing miles better than La Liga

Barca failed to beat Chelsea last year though Integra and were very fortunate to get a draw at that.

Infact - Barca have failed to beat Chelsea in numerous recent meetings when we've had 11 men on the pitch.

The way I see it:

Prem best six teams:

Chelsea
Arsenal
Liverpool
Manchester United
Man City
Tottenham

Primera best six teams:

Barcelona
Real Madrid
Valencia
Atletico Madrid
Sevilla
Deportivo

IMO any of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man United and Liverpool could win the Champions League.  Where as only Barcelona or Real Madrid could win it from Spain.

That leaves Man City and Spurs along with Valencia, Atletico, Sevilla and Deportivo who are all about the same quality, however Man City, Valencia and Atletico are the top three out of that group.

The best team consisting of EPL, La Liga players

Gk Casillas/Reina/VDS
DR Puyol/Johnson.
DC Vidic
DC Terry
DL Evra/Cole
ML Messi
MC Iniesta
MC Fabregas
MR Ronaldo
FC Torres
FC Drogba

Even if we give them GK and DR EPL still wins again.

Goodness me, I can't imagine anyone wanting to play against that strike force, Torres and Drogba!!

I know, new idea, everyone post up the best Premiership starting 11 plus 7 subs vs Primera.

Lets see what we all get.

This was hard enough...give my La Liga one later....

GK Cech
DR Johnson
DC Terry
DC Vidic
DL Evra
ML A.Young
MC Fabregas
MC Gerrard
MR Arshavin
FC Torres
FC Drogba

SUBS

VDS
Ferdinand
A.Cole
Lampard
Carrick
Rooney
Van Persie

Tough choice Berbatov,Tevez,Ballack,Barry,Adebayor,Gallas,Reina would just miss out.

This is currently, if the likes of J.Cole gets back to form then I'd probably have him in there.

Good to see you are still confident in your team though. So,are you behind Rafa or want him out mate?.I think he has taken them as far as he can.Plus he is very poor when it comes to signing players.Would love to see what a manager like Wenger, who is brilliant in the transfer market, could do there.

I wont argue with the usual top 4.

But City and Tottenham moreso dont deserve to be labelled in the top 6 league sides.

For the last 2 years, the top 6 teams have not changed, they have been the 6 best teams no matter what their sequence was over the last 2 seasons.

At present Villa are 5th, having beaten already beaten Liverpool 3-1 and Chelsea.
To not include them is not a fair reflection of the 6 best sides in the league, based on long + short term performances.

Ah Villa Fan, I forgot.

Yeah, thats a fair point about the league table, I just think Spurs have better quality players so if I was to pick the best six teams to represent the Prem and play against Primera best six, they would get the nod.  You can't dispute Man City being in there though, they may be new on the block, but with the quality they have signed, they are there no doubt.

I would dispute Man City too, I dont have too much confidence in Hughes, they signed too many players at once, they need time to gel and get to know each others game. It seems Hughes doesnt know his best 11 or even his best formation.

I am hugely biased though

Also another good point there Shane.

If I am being totaly honest, Villa have been playing good enough to be in my 6 best, but they defo over achieve, they just miss out imo due to the quality of the other squads.

I am not being Bias either, a member of my family played for Villa but has just left so I follow them closely.

Defensively the EPL are stronger but midfield and attack are dominated by La Liga players.

GK, casillas is definitely better than anyone in the EPL.
