Hmm. Well if your wanting to postpone your potions for a little while longer, you may want to take a look at your food intake prior to training, or upping calories up a tad for the day. Depends if your wanting to look lean and sexy or get than extra rep It could even be down to something as simple as a good nights kip?

Personally, I'm intrigued as to what these potions can do for you.

I ALWAYS look sexy!

Sleep is fine I think. Cals certainly aren't low and I'm strong on all the following work just no my flat stuff I do 1st, if anything that should be OK and the rest should suffer. I shall have a think tho.

What can these potions do.... well I know they make my nuts shrink and my tits itch.... interested ? LOL I'll likely start by the end of the month so you'll soon find out.

Lol - don't even get me started on calves! My quads are a half decent 24.5" cold half way up the thigh, yet my calves sit at a pretty poor 15.5", although thats pretty similar to my arms so maybe it's normal!

One day i'll find what makes the fcukers grow

Well my calves (which I've not measured for some time now as there is no point LOL) usually lag a good 1-2" behind my arms. Probably more now

I've spent 15 years trying.....

AK, my quads are 26", and my calfs same as yours. They're like turkey drumsticks! At least you've got proportionality on your side, not to mention a 145kgx10 squat

Though I can use the excuse that I'm not a bobdybuilder and therefore I shouldn't be bothered... although I am... a little bit.

@DV, would Tony let you alter the routine then if you feel you've gone stagnant? Including board presses perhaps? Or CG benching first to build up tricep strength? Just thinking of options really. Unless I see some sort of progression every week (be it weight, sets, reps, bar speed) my youthful impatience kicks in.

LOL,  I'm not his wife!

DV can do what he likes.  No one set or reps/sets or routine will work for ever.

If you feel like you've stagnated mate then we can have a shake around.  The routine/method of progression your using though will work very well if you add in supplements.

15 years, that bodes well for me then

My quads have been stagnant for a while though, so tommorow will see the return of 15's i think, prepare the vomit bucket!

Rack lockouts might help with the benching, did for me initially, though i suppose it depends how your tricep strength-endurance is to start with really.

LOL... I'm not his bitch, well, not tonight LOL

TBF this routine is still going fine for everything else so I don't think I have hit a wall as such and chest is a re-occuring problem in every routine I have had. Certainly the inconsistancies of earlier this year have not helped and, as Tony says, the imminent addition of 'supplements' will definately help. I want to see what ground I can gain there and see what I maintain post cycle, err, I mean post supplements.

Re:Dirty gets back to basics - 18 March 2010 17:03
Had a good bball game last night, but not sure that didn't help this sore thoat get hold. It's properly swollen up now and hurts like fcuk from my neck up to my ear. However, I still don't feel ill and have paracetamol, Ibu, disersable aspirin AND penicillin to hand so still made it down the gym and finally videoed my OHP work.

That said, on route I did start to feel a bit rough but put it down to lack of sleep due to the pain I was in last night. It definately effcted my session but considering that it was OK today. Feel fcuked now tho.

DELTS

BB Push Press: 5x40, 50, 2x60, 1x80 4x87.5 +1xF w/120 or so secs rest..... Despite feeling sore I matched the last attempt at these so no bad thing. Didn't feel right today tho at all.
Strict OHP: 70x 6, 5, 5 w/90 or so secs rest..... again, altho hard work, I still matched my last week so that will do me for today
Side Lat Raise: 10s for 7 sets of 10 reps w/10 secs rest..... pushed some more out here but used a little 'English'

TRIS

Floor Press: 3x100, 112.5 for 5, 4, 4 then 10x90 w/90 secs rest..... As with the OHP work, matched my last outing but it took some doing and form suffered a tad I think.
Dips: BW + 45kg for 10, 10, 10 w/90 secs rest.... actually upped the weight again, why not! Solid sets of 10 (or maybe the last was a 9, I forget but it's on the vid.)
Machine extensions: stack for 12, 12, 12, 10, 8, 8, 8 w/10 secs rest..... I had to drop set this to keep the reps anything like half decent. Was definately feeling it now

usual roller and stretch to close.

No time for cardio, felt rough anyway so wouldn't have done, but I had to pick my motor up. Got my suspension fixed, also asked them to sort out a new glove box catch....... part alone is £300 FFS, screw that, ebay it is LOL.

A session I probably shouldn't have done TBH but I did so there you go. Not bad considering.

Nice work - with dips do you find not going to full elbow flexion helps keep the tension on the tri's and away from the delts/pecs?

LOL, she's OK. She's one of the PTs there. We also have the Miss GB Fitness there, Karen Norris I think her name is.

Didn't realise I was bang under that effin green light, not a good look

BTW, the way I am feeling right now, don't be holding your breath for any vids of me having a bash at 200x5 on DL tomorrow. Slowly feeling rougher as the night goes on. Hopefully I'm just tired but not so sure TBH.

AK: I usually try to avoid full extension/locking on anything I'm doing reps on. As you say, primarily to maintain tension. As soon as I have to do a locked out pause for a rep or 2 then I know I have done enough.

Did the sensible thing today, so yet again, another week of incomplete training. Assuming I am well after the weekend I think I will be starting my course next weekend regardless cos at this rate my stuff will 'go off' LOL

Feeling a bit better now, tho, was RAF this morning. So I think the penicillin is kicking in finally. Just chilling at home, cat on lap and just trying to eat whatever I can. Not wincing so much when I swallow now either.

Re:Dirty gets back to basics - 22 March 2010 15:08
Not to be today. Still got a bit of this throat infection, but more annoyingly, with that having wiped out my immune function it's let a cold really wipe me out so decided not to tempt fait..... day off work too to rest up. I've got the wife's 40th on Thurs so need to be fit.

It will mean this week will only see 2 training sessions so I'll hash together a bit of legs and chest (with some bis) tomorrow if I am fit, then on Fri get back done and throw in some OHP and FP work to cover delts and tris, but just damage limitation sessions. Course will then start at the weekend I think, that should hopefully see my 12 weeker ending in time for my hols (I'll do the maths later ) and also before the summer heat picks up.

Other news:

Need a new washing machine, an annoyingly unexpected $300 spend that.

One of my cats likes bringing me gifts and toys. Saturday nights rain resulted in her gift of choice being..... worms, about half a dozen of the fcuking things LOL

Bummer man - best rest it up though rather than train once and miss 2+ sessions.

Don't envy you on the cat front, ours at home are old enough to be over it now, but we had everything from worms to mice to frogs to birds through the catflap in the kitchen, some alive, some not. Lovely!

Re:Dirty gets back to basics - 23 March 2010 16:28
Well, today was a wash out too. Just don't feel well enough especially as I have had to work today as we're low on staff ATM. Alos, no point risking being too ill for the wife's 40th on Thurs. If I feel good I might shimmy a make do session in tomorrow, if not then a lax full body show on Friday might set me up for next week.

Don't usually feel this ill off a cold (now the throat has eased a bit) but obviously the throat infection fcuked my immune system over and has really let this cold do it's work.

Any tips on washing machines welcome BTW

Full body deload type blast on Friday it is then. I'll just work up to something like a 60-70% single or so depending how easy it feels on FS, Bench, PP and DL and then just do a few light blasts on RDL, Curl, Floor press and a row probably.

Shouldn't take long. Do dome good stretching etc afterwards. See my physio mate on sat for a good MOT, start course on Sun and back to the gym on Mon.... That's the plan anyway

LOL, I wouldn't even try it ATM, I'm not a million miles off (like yourself) but it's certainly not there right now.

It's been a year now since I was last on. I'm on hols in 16 weeks so I have my 12wks to run, then 2-3wkoff before 4wks of PCT. So not ideal, I would rather be able to train properly while going thru PCT TBH but I might manage to get in a couple of make-shift sessions to minimise any damage.... failing that I'll stock up and run it thru my hols and start PCT when I get back

Sounds like something similiar I had mate. Wasn't your average cold.

Wish I could give some useful insight re: washing machine, but my mechanical knowledge doesn't extend past the basics of 2 stroke motors unfortunately. The one in our flat is definately on it's way out, I just hope we can get out before it does!

Well I've just survived my weekly bball game, altho I did play like I had never touched a ball in my life. Didn't help that we had exactly 10 turn up so no chance to sub out for a breather.

Fingers crossed for the wife's big day tomorrow, weather forecast isn't exactly great, and now she's got this cold we think and caught a stomache bug from all the parents at her school bringing in sick kids.

I'm definately over the worst tho, a light session (full body on Fri) and back in motion on Monday I hope. Having the throat infection first just let this cold knock the shat out of me

(Good to see you again TB, how's that shoulder?)

Re:Dirty gets back to basics - 26 March 2010 17:55
LOL nice pic.... just had Zach's mates round today and it was snotty noses all round..... so I made sure I coughed over them all!

Right, 1st things first - I made the gym today. Went a little heavier than planned but was still an easyish session

FS - up to 120x2 IIRC
Bench - the same
PP - 80x2 or 3
DL - up to 180x2 or 3
RDL - 100 x 2x5
Inc DB - 45s 2x5
Floor P - 80 x 2x5
LPD - 97.5 x 2x5
Hammer row - 90 x 2x6
Curls - 45 x 2x6

Got a sweat on but nice to be moving again.

London yesterday with the Mrs was nioce. Bit much for $80 return for us both. Really nice meal ($70) I had Kangaroo amongst other things. Wander round Covent Gdn. Weather wasn't great but she came out with a new bag and accessories and a nice little CK watch so she's happy.

Alas today we bought our washing machine with money I now don't have. Hotpoint, was 440 now 340 so figured I couldn't go far wrong with that at that price. Also found somewhere that can laminate our downstairs (about 40sqm) in our $800 budget but I've got a couple of months to sort that out.

Women always appreciate a little money spent LOL... bloody Next sale today

Course will officially start tonight. Seen my mate and had my hamstring well worked, and my shoulder (fcuk that hurt) so as of this evening I will be running

Test enan: 750mg pw
Deca: IIRC 400mg pw (unless it's 250mg/ml I forget now)

Freezer is stocked up with HCG, arimidex will be run with it too.

Now then, I will get that 100kg PP dammit. I['ve got a couple of weeks til it will all properly kick in so that will help me get back up to speed after this last week or so's erratic training.

Fingers crossed I'll stay healthy and get some consistancy back
