Daz, what type of cardio do u do?

I read in one of your earlier posts u did some SSCV cardio with various machines then finished with some boxing, is this your usual plan of attack?

Don't see/read about many BBers doing boxing for cardio, do u do any HIIT cardio?

i use hit style cardio and then on other times i use my low intensity into high intensity using 4 machines one of the things i do is boxing to finish off, boxing is used as a hit training style doing a 2min round with a 1min rest. I think what it is with bodybuliders not using boxing and hit style cardio is that they are scared to loose muscle , all your doin is raising your heart rate to help with fittness and fat burning. So for them bodybuilders that are scared of loosing muscle why not give it a try and you wil realise your more likeley to gain more muscle with the added fittness.

For the last week and the week comencing im trying a new method that james came up with and that is training biceps everyday for 2 weeks each day i use a different exercise for 4 sets with different rep ranges. Im a week into it now and i think its helping change the shape of my biceps its something i would use again maybe every 6weeks .

Quite a refreshing approach to cardio with competitive bodybuilding IMO, good to hear!!

The main journal is now up:

HERE

This is linked to in the first post of the topic, in Daz's profile, and through the interviews link on the right>>>

This will be updated every 2-4 weeks by Daz and me as things progress with pics and meal plans.  The first meal plans are there now, so we're ready for any questions!

We have a photo session booked at Daz's gym on Tuesday with Eric Guy aka MT member videoman

In reference to Daz's illness bug, he's better now, but I've advised him simply to get food in him yesterday and today, especially sugars to get some fuel back in.  He's not been training but will resume on Monday

The music was just for the video clip.  We'll bear that in mind when we do the full DVD

great Vid!

2 questions regarding the exercises in the vid;

2:31 in you do an exercise which resembles treating a 10-15kg plate as a steering wheel...First time i've seen this exercise.  Can you elaborate on this please?

5:07 in you do a type of upright row on the squat rack, but from behind.  What advantages do you feel this has over a traditional upright row?

Much appreciated

Tried the 'steering wheel' exercise today, gotta say its awesome for finishing off shoulders! defo going to inc it into my routine.

As for 5:07, is this not just a variation of a shrug for traps??

whoever selected the supermarket music should be taken outside and shot.

That would be me!!!,  I added some music instead of the plain gym background,  it was just used for the clip..
I will not be going out the back,  incase some geezer has a gun cause he did not like the music

Well, I showed my wife the video clip, and she pissed herself at the music! lol I have bored her to tears over the years showing her various bb dvd's, in her own words 'how come everyone else has thrash metal, and hardcore rap, and daz get something from one her birthing videos, on how to prepare for labour!'

Class videoman, keep for the outtakes!

Hi Daz, regarding the side lateralls that you do at the begining of the workout (Charles Glass style).
I tried them today and found them really awkward to get the right feel in the shoulders, do you have any tips for getting the movement right, looks kinda straight forward but just didnt feel right at all.
I usually do my side laterals seated with feet elevated on the bench so as to eliminate any sort of swinging up of the d/bell that so many seem to do. So its not that im used to cheating the d/bells up.
thanks
