Re:Time to Bite the Bullet! - 17 March 2010 16:22
Day 4

Squats (all sets of 8)
60,70,80,90,100,100,90,80

Slowly building the weight and volume back on my legs.  Was gonna do another set on 70 and 60 aswell but was getting some rather uncomfortable pumps in my lower back.  Dont know whether its because of lack of squatting over the months or the epi rearing its side effect head.  Either way im gonna pick up some potassium and taurine to take to combat it.

Was gonna do shoulders last night aswell but didnt get chance, had too much drilling to do and we got a few call outs so I did it the following morning.

Day 5

BB press
4x15 - 30kg

Seated DB press
4x12

Seated BTN press
4x12

Cable rear flys
2x25

I went quite light, kept it strict and went for reps instead because I didnt want to aggravate my arm.  Felt fine thank god and did a few sets of light Bi's and Tri's at the end to see if that hurt and was fine too.  Just gonna be careful and try to start light for a few sets to get a good warm up now on.

LOL

Hope the cycle is going well mate. Cheers for the advice on cutting, etc. by the way, exams finish tomorrow so I'm starting the cut this week!

lol thanks CK.  Just rub it in why dont you
Just not going heavy on deads anymore, dont see the point. plus im sure the back pumps would be painful.  I can lift 150 no problem for a few reps.  But unfortunately my bench is poo poo.

Need to pick up my taurine from the post office tomorrow cos i wasnt in  esp after those high volume squats, my lower back was rock solid!  not nice!
Good workouts otherwise.  Chest and tri's tonight.

Also cycled to work and back yesterday and should be doing that from now on.  Takes me 30mins each way wi some good hills in there.  Seen as though i never do cardio this is good for me

Re:Time to Bite the Bullet! - 04 April 2010 15:18
The squats wernt too bad that session.  It was the heavy deads that caused the pumps.  Hopefully the taurine will help now if i remember to take it!

Day 22

No weights but lot of cycling.

Half way update
Well, weighed myself this morning and was just shy of 12st 9lbs which means ive put 3-4lbs on since i started.  not bad!  I know some of it had gone on my waist and my jeans felt tight around my thighs the other night

Not seen much in strength gains so far until i did those clean and press yesterday, they felt strong so must be giving me a little boost!

Sides - Couple more spots than usual, nothing bad.  No hair thinning.  Intense lower back pumps when training legs/lower back.  But thats it, i can deal with that!

If it carries on like this with steady weight and strength gains with few sides ill be pleased at the end.  Would be nice if I could reach 13st!

Re:Time to Bite the Bullet! - 09 April 2010 20:07
Walking about is giving me lower back pumps at the minute.  Not the nicest of feelings!  Just pushing through the weights, taurine helps a bit!

Not had much chance to update recently, internet isnt working in my flat

Trainings been going well, nothing much to update, diets gone off the rails last week, few takeaways, gonna have to try and keep it clean, want to keep the fat gain to a minimum

Day 27 today I think.  Im away for a few days, and i forgot to bring my epi with me so gonna be having 2 days without, hope that will be fine and gonna carry on as normal on sunday.

Day 27

Cleans
3x60kg
3x70kg
2x80kg
2x85kg
3x3 - 50kg

Leg extensions
4x10

Leg curls
3x10

Hammer strength leg press
5x10

Hammer strength shoulder press
4x8

BB press
3x8

shrugs
3x8

Handstands
3x40s

Stretching

Going through a stretching phase again, lower body mainly.  Helps with the pumps to stretch off my lower back lightly a few times a day.  Decent session today.  Trained at a Bannatynes cos at my girlfriends for the weekend.  Some posh kit compared to the rack and some old dumbbells I have on station.

Gonna try not to weigh myself for another week.  Feeling quite bulky at the min! Ive lost a little definition but in good light I still looked ripped shoulders looked goooood for once today after pumping them up

That's some impressive Cleaning mate. You'd prob be good for a 90kg single?

What's your overhead like? You should try for a Floor to Overhead single and get yourself into 1ManRiot's FLOH chart! You could get a mighty impressive lift for your weight!

I clean and pressed 90kg and said ive filmed it to put in 1manriots chart.  just need my internet to work in my flat so I can uplaod it

Did some gardening today, digging up trees and moving them.  Not good for the lower back.  Decent exercise though in the heat.  had a good sweat on!

Day 29

Chins
4x8

Straight arm pull down
6x8

Bent over row
4x10

Wide high row
3x15

Curls
4x8

Hammers
3x8

Hang
3x30s

Some other bi work and ab work that I cant remember
Biceps and forearms felt like they were gonna pop

Day 30

Bench
5x8

Wide dips
5x8

Inc bench
5x8

Cable flys
3x8

Dips
4x8 +15kg

Push downs
3x8

Awesome pump again today.  Dips felt strong.  Moved stations so got a different gym now.  Its got a good dip station (yey ) but no cage or squat rack and no olympic bar (NOOOOO )  There's other bars and a bench rack so can still dead lift and prob box squat so not a total loss!

Weighed myself this morning and was 12st 12lbs  if it carries on like this i dont think ill have any problem reaching 13st!

Day 37

First time ive managed to get on the net in ages again.  Keep having to take my laptop to my girlfriends or my parents!
Trainings been going well.  Taurine helps with the back pumps during training.  Still get them randomly through the day though just from walking.

Not long to go now.
