17yrs to go!

James- why do you think this needed a seperate section and the advice etc in other sections wasn't suitable for over 40s? or is this just a way to exclude riff raff like myself from the more mature sophisticated discussions on MT??

It's been requested for a number of years, and it was felt that, like Female and Beginners, warrented it's own section for discussion

A great addition, having recently turned 40 I've been considering how I can change my training regime to enable me to train for the next 20 years and guard against injury (as I seem to carry more every month now)

I know for sure that without changes I could end up doing some damage that could stop me training for quite a few months.

An adaption of the old saying but I will now be training, monitoring recovery and adjusting accordingly.

Hi all,

54 yrs old on saturday.  Does this qualify me for this forum, or do I need an older one.  Would hate to be the oldest one here with all you younguns.

Thanks James.
I would just like to add that I have come to the conclusion that even if you are old(me that is) its never too late to learn.  This is in my opinion the best site for certainly doing that.

Hello everyone,
Been back training now 4 months after a long lay off,you know the usuall work, kids etc!.I have been training using a 3 day split,to lose excess weight,Ihave changed the routine after 8 wks twice now.I would be gratefull for any help regarding work out routines to shock the body,as I seem to be standing still.I'm 49 now and always seem to have a pain somewhere.Any advice gratefully accepted.

Hi Rob, I,m a great believer in all over body routines for beginners, intermediates or after a long lay off. This is a great way to work the body on a regular basis with-out pounding it, letting you ease into a split!!Any info please ask mate!!

Micky,
Thanks for the reply mate.
I have been looking at starting a full body routine, but dont really know where to start. There's so many differing opinions. Can I do full body over 3 days Mon,Wed,Fri?.Will I see gains with full body?If you can spare the time can you point me towards a routine to get started and any advice you can offer is much appreciated,as I feel stuck in a rut.
Rob.
