Not been here for a while mate.

Anyway havent been following closesly enough, Im guessign youre bulking at the moment by the sounds of things.

Was wondering are you doing any cardio, i may have just completely missed it but cant see any reference to any (my bad if there is some) i know youre bulking but imo is still an idea to keep a session or 2 in each week just at a gentle intensity.

Also how long are you planning on bulking for? (if thats the case)

Anyway keep up the good work, some v.good lifts, think you could go a bit higher on squats though by the looks of your other lifts!

Also am in the process of making a tech-house mix which ill post up for you when done mate, still nothing special, but learnt a few more things over last couple of days so should be a bit better, plus even if the mixing isnt that great then gives you a few tunes that you might enjoy to listen to :)

3 x 5 sounds good to me. Low reps are the way forward for deads.

Howdy mate, yep I'm bulking at the moment. My original plan was to just bulk until Feb to make it a full year of bulking, but I'm going to keep bulking until around April I think because I have really big exams at the end of March/start of April and I think completely changing my diet/lifestyle with low carbs and early morn cardio etc. wouldn't be very conducive to good exam preparation!

But yeah I do 2-3 cardio sessions a week as it is, usually 30-45 mins low intensity on a bike or cross trainer, after weights. The last couple of weeks I had started to neglect cardio and I saw a visible increase in bf which scared the hell out of me, lol. So yeah I agree, cardio is crucial imo!

I agree my squats are by far my weak point, I don't know why - possibly a fear of pushing for heavier weights because of my bad knees!

PS. Get that mix up soon I'll look forward to hearing it!

Good stuff mate, yeah squats are a dodgy one especially with knees but from the basis of your other lifts i reckon you can go a fair bit higher, just do it gradually, and good stuff on the cardio.

Ill do some work tomorrow on that tech-house mix mate, just been fine-tuning my own electro-house one so hopefully will get it up tomorrow afternoon at some point, if not then friday :)

Hopefully mate, that's why I was considering moving to a routine like SS, I reckon squatting every session and forcing myself to add weight every session would bring my squat right up! The only problem with a routine like that is I'm too fond of my biceps curls and flies! Also SS isn't big on Deadlifting, and I'm trying to increase my Deadlift fast, want a 4 plate lift after xmas!

Pull

Deadlift
60kg x 14
105kg x 8
105kg x 8
120kg x 5
130kg x 3
150kg x 1 (PB)

Bicep work + Abs + 30 mins cardio

Chuffed with the 1rm PB, everything felt easy enough except my grip just about held on until I locked out. This leads me to believe that if I was to use straps I could probably pull 160.

Solid deadlift PB mate but a lot of reps in the build up.

At most I'd go
60x5
105x3
120x2
130x1
150x1

and get some chalk,  will make a world of diff grip wise.

@ everyone else - LOL yeah it's mad, I just think it's funny that my mum said it because:

1. My arms are NOT big, in any way!
2. I'm not training to get girls!
3. I'm pretty sure girls do like big muscles anyway, lol.

Decent old session, decided to up the weight on the squats and go for lower reps, will do this from now on, felt really good and I think my form was a lot better than last week, despite the higher weight.

Diet was perfect today, training session was perfect, got loads of free samples from my supplement shop, it's the weekend tomorrow and I felt quite confident in the gym today because I'm starting to look in similar shape to guys in my gym who I used to look up to when I started out - life is pretty good all round!

Bit of a messy day today diet-wise, had a cheeky meal in Burger King cos I was out for a few hours and didn't have any food with me. Otherwise not too bad I guess but could be better. Got the next two days off, going out on the piss tomorrow (long overdue) and will be back in the gym on Monday.

Been listening to this song on repeat today: (Ridiculously catchy!)

Great stuff getting back on the drinking tomorrow mate, always a good laugh, im doing it too much though ha!

Great work on the squats too, 10kg up to 90 is top work, keep getting it up!

And yes is a very catchy song, a very good one too!

Still working on that tech house mix, may have it up tonight but will see, needs abit of work still but will do what i can with it, just completed another electro-house mix which came out pretty well! (link is on my journal for that mix anyway - will post a link here for the tech one when completed!)

Some pics taken just now:

I reckon I'm looking bigger in these than in the last set of pics I put up, but the flip side is I also reckon I have put on a bit of bf as well (Bear in mind however that these were taken after a full day of eating and I just had a meal about half an hour ago so I'm feeling about as lean as a pregnant woman). Biceps have definitely grown though imo, which is great because they've always been a lagging part for me.

Can't f.ucking wait to cut!

2nd one is quite dark, but from the outline youre lookin pretty good man. lats look to be in good nick too!

Mix's are taking ages to upload, will give them another go tomorrow if they dont upload soon as got to be up @ 6 tomorrow so heading to bed in 5mins.

Electro mix has just uploaded though so should be on my journal, not too happy with the texh mix ive just done though tbh (will tell you know there is a part at abourt 22mins20secs into the tech mix were sound just cuts out on one track and loudens on another so quickly have to adjust it, so a well dodgy bit there, still average, problem is im not massively clued up on the tech scene so not so sure of what to use, where as the electro/trance/house ive got a v.good idea - worth a listen anyways with some free time!

Cheers mate, yeah I was gonna say actually sorry the pics are such sh1t quality, just took them on my phone!

No worries mate, I think Tech-House and Techno generally is probably slightly harder to mix anyway because it's all about very subtle buildups, etc. Keep at it though mate, do you want to get into DJing at all? I made a few mixes a while ago on Ableton, I'll try to dig them up and upload them at some stage!

Tbh mate right now DJ'ing is all a bit of fun, i know a couple, and have been talking to one who organises all teh big nights at the best (well imo) nightclub in brighton and hopefully will be able to spend an evening behind teh decks, maybe do a couple of things if im lucky but just see what it is like.
Currently i dont really want to make a career out of it, but could make a bit of useful extra cash every now and again.

As you said the tech-house was a lot harder, is probably a pretty poor mix if im honest just a few tracks put together and intergrated slightly with a few extras every now and again, but not knowing that scene too well didnt really know where to go just fancied something new.

Also the fact that not having headphones makes it very hard as i dont know where to cut in the next song as cant preview it, so have to rely on my knowledge of the song (with tech hardly any lol) as well as a bit of guesswork to see where it goes.

Anyway electro mix is up on my page if you fancy a listen whilst browsing the internet (am pretty happy with that - although last 20mins or so is a bit of a mess aroudn seeing what i could do with some random arsed songs), will upload tech one again tomorrow as is taking ages and heading for bed now.

Theres that tech mix mate (quick upload @ this time with nobody else online)

As i said im not really happy with it at all (and theres that dodgy part at 22.20 - better than i used to be - but still pretty poor imo - have a listen if you fancy anyway)

I already know that this week is going to be sh1t diet-wise. My parents are getting a completely new kitchen put in and so we effectively don't have a kitchen for the next 3 days, no idea how I'm going to manage! F.uck it though I'll try my best, I can see myself having quite a few cheeky meals out, plus an increase in meal replacement shakes, but it's not the end of the world

Not all that much of a problem mate, if you can cook up some stuff before, if not when at supermarket just buy some ready cooked chicken etc (the cold stuff) then some salad, leave it all in the fridge and then no prep neccesary, anyway no harm in having a few days of bad dieting every so often.

Cheers on the mixfront though, wasnt too happy with it, prefer my electro one as think it works better, but listening back its slightly better than i thought, can still do a hell of a lot more though

That's half the problem, we don't have a fridge anymore! Kitchen is being completely stripped out and replaced! LOL, ah I'll figure something out!

Push

DB Press
36kg x 7
36kg x 7
36kg x 6

Incline Bench
62.5kg x 8
62.5kg x 6
60kg x 6

Dips
BW x 10
BW x 8 (-1)
BW x 7 (-1)

Incline Flyes
8kg x 14
8kg x 14
8kg x 13

Pushdowns
14/15 x 10 (+1)
14/15 x 10 (+2)
14/15 x 8 (+1)

Pretty **** session, can't believe I still haven't moved up on the DB Press, it's just getting annoying at this stage! Although to be fair my diet was piss poor over the weekend, I basically didn't eat for 2 days cos I was out on a whopper drinking sesh on Sat, so I'm actually surprised I wasn't down a rep or two. I felt really weak on the Incline and the Dips speak for themselves. Not sure why I was so strong on the Pushdowns though.

Already my diet has been appalling this week due to not having a kitchen. My food intake today has consisted of:

3 Weetabix w/ milk
4 Eggs
3 Whey shakes
Chicken wrap from O'Briens sandwich bar in college
McDonalds meal consisting of a Big Mac meal plus 12 chicken nuggets

And I just got home from college now to find that my whole family had ordered a Chinese for dinner, including some for me, so it looks like I'll be having that!

My diet will be like this until Wednesday at the earliest... you really don't realise the importance of a kitchen until it's gone! LOL

Progress is looking good mate. Dont give yourself a hardtime about not moving up on the DB press. We all have the occasional sh*t days and that isnt bad considering your diet was hit and miss on the weekend

Had a crap weekend food wise myself mate, not enough protein and loads of rubbish stuff.

Whats the advantage of DB press over bench?
