Weighing a piss-light 83kg this morning. Almost lost 10kg over the summer. Going to bulk hard when winter comes, I think.

Last Week of Workouts (from memory),

Sunday:
Powercleans: I put 80kg on the bar, pretty easy - just working technique and getting some exercise. Did 5 triples or so.
Front Squats: 2x5 @ 100kg, 2x4 @ 120kg, 1x10 @ 100kg
Strict Press: 3x6 @ 60kg, 1x8 @ 70kg
Plate high pulls: 20kg plate, 4x10 reps each arm nonstop. Idk what to call these... basically grap a plate and pull it up so elbow is in line with shoulder and fist slightly above.

Monday:
Sprints and uphill runs etc in the evening

Tuesday:
Abs and jog outside in the morning on empty stomach

Wednesday: did a bodybuilder's style back workout - pumped!
Wide pullups: 2x6 (warm up)
DB rows: 4x10 @ 50kg
Seated low cable rows: 4x12  @ stack(150kg) - felt lighter than what it said it weighed
Wide Pulldowns behind/front of neck: 4x12 each

Thursday:
AM jog outside on empty and abs
Did another bodybuilder's workout, chest/arms
30 Incline DB press: 2x10 @ 27.5kg, 2x8 @ 32.5kg, 2x10 @ 30kg
Flat DB flyes: 4x8 @ 22.5kg
Some press machine: 4x10 idk just for zem pump
Chin ups: 3x12 BW
Tri pdowns: 4x15
embarassed writing this out.. I'll try some manlier stuff next time

Re:I think maybe it's time to try an attempt of becoming serious again - 21 August 2009 02:49
Trying to gain weight again. I'm up 1kg this week, so weighing 84 right now. Keeping the calories at a minimum of 3500 and they reach closer to 5000 on lifting days. Not just about the weight, I've been jogging and bodyweight exercising. Can do 20 overhand pullups without much difficulty now and closing in on 100 push ups, also got a little 6 pack going on. Trying to keep that going while still gaining some weight. Lets aim for 90kg.

Hit the gym today. I focused on shoulders hard, but not heavy - bodybuilder style. Going to do some heavy squats tomorrow to make up for that.

Thursday
Military Press 4x8 @ 60kg
1 arm DB Press 1x3 @ 42.5kg - stopped because wrist was hurting - a little bruised and swollen
Behind Neck Press 4x10 @ 55kg - slow and some veins popping
Side/Front Raise Supers Both(3x12 @ 12.5kg)
Plate High Pull 4x12 with a 20kg plate

Squats and some back tomorrow...

Thanks daKensta. I use a clean grip. They're probably my favorite lift, managed a ~150 (325lb) single a couple of months ago.

81.5kg this morning on empty stomach

This week I've been doing yet more endurance/conditioning. Heavy bag work, jogs, box jumps, BW exercises... also decided to do 100 reps on the bench with 30lb dumbbells: did 50, 30 sec break, and another 50 - crazy pump.

Today:

Front Squats (deep. no belt)
5x5 @ 120kg

2.25" Axle Power Cleans (straight from floor to neck)
1x3 @ 100lbs
1x3 @ 150lbs
3x1 @ 200lbs

Tire Flips
1x2 @ 700lbs
1x1 @ 800lbs
1x1 @ 900lbs
1x8 @ 700lbs

Wide Chin Ups

1 Arm 3.5" DB Press
(always each hand)
1x2 @ 50lbs
1x1 @ 70lbs
1x1 @ 85lbs
1x1 @ 95lbs
1x1 @ 105lbs  <-- Really happy with that. Wasn't even that hard.
1x10 @ 85lbs (normal DB)

Some Side Raises with 35lb plate
...

Re:I think maybe it's time to try an attempt of becoming serious again - 02 October 2009 01:28
TODAY

Deadlifts
1x3 @ 135lbs
1x3  @ 245lbs
1x3 @ 355lbs
1x1 @ 405lbs
1x1 @ 425lbs
1x1 @ 445lbs
1x1 @ 450lbs ( = 2.5 times bodyweight, (which is 180lbs))  ... I think I had 10 more pounds in me.

Power Clean once and Press
I put 135lbs on the bar and did as many reps as I could with multiple breaks in between. I did as many strict as I could, then it moved onto push presses then jerking. Did a total of 80 reps - just couldn't lock out anymore, too much blood in my arms.

... going to do some events on Saturday

Today, very limited what I could do: Shoulders/triceps/traps completely fücked up after what I did in the post above... and my back was a little sore.

Front squats (could hardly rest it on the shoulders nor keep the clean grip because my tris were so sore)
2x4 @ 205lbs
4x4 @ 255lbs

gave up and stretched/massaged sh/tri/traps for 20 min

Tire flips (very humid day, slippery tire and floor)
total 30 reps with about 700lb tire, kept the rest to a minimum

Cheers mate- I was please because I was a) in calorie deficit and b) not done deadlifts for ages.  Just returned to the gym after a lay-off of around 7-8 weeks so hopefully get it right back up there again soon.

I find it hard coming back after lay-offs and getting back into routine. Having a fresh lower back, though, is great.

Btw, saw you're into boxing. I've been preparing for it for a long time, but never found anyone or a place until now as I just moved. I'm starting classes in a few weeks. Got a little Rocky mindset going on... actually a pretty huge one. Hope I'm as good as I think I am

Bodyweight: 180lbs. Had been thinking about just staying this light: very comfortable, can run forever, cardio at an all time max, very lean and feeling healthy. But tonight's session made me feel strong and I love that feeling, so I'm thinking about bulking up to 200lbs and do a strongman competition early 2010.

TODAY'S TRAINING!
Front Squats (loose knee sleeves, no belt)
2x5 @ 135lbs
1x3 @ 225lbs
1x2 @ 275lbs
1x2 @ 290lbs
1x2 @ 315lbs (Double PB!! depth checked... had another rep or two in me, going to try this weight for 5 soon)
1x1 @ 335lbs (Single PB!! depth checked)
1x5 @ 225lbs

Knee Jumps
some.. just for fun and explosiveness

Keg Press
Played around with the 100lbs one, very easy
Shouldered the 195lbs for the first time. Did it two or three times. Maybe I'll press it one day.

Very thick 1 Hand DB press
1x3 @ 90lbs (each arm)
1x2 @ 90lbs
1x1 @ 112lbs (PB!)
1x1 @ 112lbs (PB! very smooth/explosive press+lockout, going for 120lbs next time)

1x3 @ 315lbs

Bodyweight: 178lbs. I've to be 175 for a strongman comp in 2 weeks. No early weigh ins so I'm going to have to actually lose 3lbs, but that couldn't be easier. Events are in my favor and I feel I'm going to rock.

Today:

Log Clean & Press

1x5 @ 157lbs
1x6 @ 177lbs <-- PB! (60 sec limit)

Thick handle trap bar deadlifts
1x5 @ 345lbs
1x5 @ 395lbs

I'm planning on putting up vids when I'm reasonably stronger. Am planning on doing a log session and thick dumbell press on christmas day so am thinking of recording that just for the laughs really.

Yeah, dude, do it! I always find myself performing 110% in front of a camera or an audience, i.e. few weeks ago gym owner pulled out his cam and I managed to squeeze out 3 extra reps on the log C&P compared to the prior set, which was max effort, of 3 and a failed 4th rep.

Your training looks like good fun. You seem to have some cool equipment, thick bars and especialy tires! Is it a strongman gym? What are your plans for the future?

 Body Weight - 75kg
Bench - 135kg
Squat - 180kg
Deadlift - 180kg

Total - 495kg

BIG ****ING NEWS that I'm swimming in the heavens over. I found out my home scale shows 7lbs too much.  That means I'm actually 167lbs instead of 174. I weighed myself at the gym today, and thought wtf?! I scaled a 45lb plate just to make sure it was right... and it sure was. Went home and weighed myself, 174, so that confirmed my theory. That makes my lifts that much more impressive... WOW, YIPPEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today's training:

36lbs Kettlebell Swings (no rest between sets)
16 each hand
12 each hand
8 each hand

Pull up mix
Set1: 10 pull ups, hang on 1 hand for 10 sec, the other for 10 sec, repeat 3 times without letting go off the bar, then hanging for 1 minute afterwards doing some leg raises.
Set2: Same thing but for 2 rounds instead of 3

Squats:
85kg x 40 <-- Nice.

Good news on the weight front suppose that means tomorrow you can eat to excess for those magic 7lbs.

Is this for the crossfit competition? What events do you have to do?

Yeah, but it has much more strongman stuff to it that usually. Events include series heavy DB presses (heaviest going up to 110 for my new weight class - so I'll rock it), tire flipping, not-that-heavy squats for reps (like I did today - see above post), and then some pull up burpee combos for time... some other stuff I forgot but you get the idea

Nice going on the PB DB presses.

110lbs DB for your weight class and your doing 130lbs think you'll smash it.

In the crossfit will the DB be as thick as the ones your using?
