Liz, not half as  disappointed as he would have been had they not realised the balls up . He looked fabulous, best glutes and taper IMO. Would love to see how Anjalis tush looks when she's a young lady as her parents have both shown the best ones on stage

Just got on to this thread now and gotta say that Zack looks better than I have seen him before. It is a shame for Daz though as I know the amount of time and effort he has put in (indirectly via what James has told us). I am sure as a true competitor he will be able to put this setback behind him and come back next year better than ever!

hey everyone!  just back home now from a weekend at the show.

disappointed for ricardo and luke, but the competition was very tough.

I have to say, that i thought alvin looked better than zack overall, but daz's placing in third was a fair one all things considered IMO.

i was suprised at the womens BF as well, not the order i thought.  They seemed to go for a slightly smaller look from where i was sat, but maybe it was decieving

i sat right at the front in the prejuding and nearer the back in the finals, you do see things differently from as close as the judges. remember even skin tone counts in bodyfitness and you cant always see that in pics. I didnt think maxine had a smaller look, in fact i thought she was more of the 'louise rogers 'than the 'carly  thornton'......jayne tingle in 2nd was the new carly!

also just wanted to say nathan d asha was awesome, especially considering he was a junior just a couple of years back- very impressed!

very happy for dean leisak too - lets face it, if shaun's in your class, 2nd is the closest you could possibly get to 1st place

we were pretty far back, so its probably down to that, when your sat further back, it can really change how things look.  I wasnt critisising the order they were placed in anyway, end of the day im not a judge, just what i found a really pleasing physique was a bit different to them! 
 
 I expected the girl in the blue bikini with the short blond hair to be further up, my mind has gone completely blank and i cant for the life of me remember her name!

yes thats her,  she had a harder more defined look that the winner from where i was, though as you say similar in size.  Her shoulders and back in particular were very good.  Thats what i ment earlier when i said about going for a 'smaller' and 'softer' look.  I thought she should have been in first or second, but what do i know!  She was sat a couple of rows infront of us after her class (drinking a pint lol) and the detail and condition she had was amazing
 
I just thought she had the most impressive physique from my perspective  My GF thought the same.

Was great to say hello to RACK and gymbabeliz amongst others this morning.

Rack, top fella, as amusing in real life as on the page and a lot bigger than he gives himself credit for.
I felt dwarfed.

I felt slightly less dwarfed by Liz and her poppet but they were lovely
...even if they both seemed to find the idea of me floundering on gymnastic ab exercises extremely amusing.

Apologies to anyone I missed and also to one or two I didn't miss but found the prospect of having a slightly dishevelled jedi looming at them first thing in the morning a bit unsettling

Hi guys - just a quick post tonight, more tomorrow, where I'll respond to a lot of your points, in turn.

Hazel has put a couple more pics up just now, more will go up tomorrow.

Overall

Daz, his family, some friends and I have just been out for a meal and drinks.  We've chatted a lot about it.

Daz and I are hugely disappointed.  But we've accepted it now and it's time to move on.  We had MAJOR stresses both Fri and Sat night with his tan for different reasons.  His skin didn't take to it and we were forced to use Dream Tan for Saturday.  Comments from the powers that be on Sat night were that it was too think and covered Daz's definition.  We panicked, stressed and argued (yes, Daz and I how our first tiff!) about what to do.  We settled today on Pro Tan layered on.  It worked and Daz had a dark tan, but, as you'll see on the pics, it was dull and hid his definition.  We should have used sheen.

However, this takes nothing away from Zack and Alvin.  Daz and I have spoke for hours on this and, removing our disappointment and anger (there have been several issues to be angry about), Zack was the winner and Alvin came in tremendous too for second.

Zack, if you're reading this mate (if not, can someone pass it on):  Well done; you worked hard for this win this year and it was well deserved.  All the very best for the future.  This is from Daz and me!

Alvin has announced his retirement now - shame mate if you mean this as you're a brilliant guy with a great attitude and you looked the best you ever have. EDIT - Alvin has NOT announced this - this is false information and I apologise

Shaun - thanks for posting.  Top guy and you gave Zack a run for his money in the overall.  I'm sure you're disappointed, but you're a real pro too.

Huge thanks to James, Hazel, IB and Eric Guy (and those behind the scenes i don't know about) for this weekend's coverage, fantastic work throughout.

Great post there James, very commendable :). When you wake up tomorrow, I'd like to know what you think needs to be done to give Daz a chance of winning next year (assuming he'll be competing). 

agree dazs tan was little off - soo much muscle on him!

thought zee that won the ladies o55kg  made massive improvements over last year - well done.

could clearly see striations on zack glues, much better seperation in his hamstrings andalso quads, since the last show.

sjt looked amazing, really couldnt pick between him and zack for the overall.

Was at work today (Tesco in Notts city center) and a guy came in who had been to the finals and I chatted to him for a bit

told me that Zack won the overalls, I asked him about Daz and he said that he looked ****...which left me quite confused

like to start with saying well done to zack and neil got it right and the best bb on the day took everything. As for me had i poor weekend with the tan the jan tan wudnt take to my skin then the dream looked no good then did 4hours of putting pro tan on to get a colour on for the 2nd day ansd didnt put sheen just was scared of making the pro tan run but i have learnt from that i will now over next two weeks get a few things tested to sort my tan for next year. Sorry to all the people and family that came to see me it was a silly mistake to stop showing myself of to my best but it was the best man that won. Thanks to james for helping i no how busy u have been but i can say this and mean this thats not the end of daz ball get ready for next year cus now i will be going to my cave and see you all this time next year will still be update but thats it. All the best in your 1st pro show zack and you james this year.

First I would like to say what a fabulous show!!!British bodybuilding should be proud of the physiques that are now presented. So so sorry for Daz I have seen at close hand how much he wanted this he is totally gutted, but, like a true profesional is already planning for next year!!Such was the standared both Luke Nicols and Ricardo both failed to make the final cut. Must admit after seing the standered of the u80kg class it has made me think long and hard as to wether I can mix with this class!!but, will give it a go only way of finding out!!! Over-all a fantastic spectacle!!!

Good morning!

This weekend was great from a spectators view and like somebody said earlier, being sat behind the judges table you get to see alot more of the detail you'd miss further back in the hall.

The U80's was one of the toughest classes i have seen and so deep with talent!

Congratulations to Zack, he dialled in well and his waist line has been brought in heavily to his benefit. I was sat next to Neil Hill and all i could hear was "GLUTES ZACK, HAMSTRINGS!!"
Neil has now prepped 4 champions back to back, quite the king maker.

Sorry to read Alvin has announced his retirement, i honestly think if he kept at it and brought in his conditioning a bit tighter for next year he would be pushing Daz hard for top spot.

Big well done to all Team MT competitors, sorry to see Ricardo not making the final 6 cut and i honestly had Luke B winning his class.

After the show i had to split and make the long journey back home to make it back in time to cook my meals for the next day

Great to see a fair few MT members in the crowd.

SJT, glad you liked the live feed reports you looked amazing last night.
