I've started playing again this season too and have had to cut down weight training to 2 days a week (Mon and Wed) as we train on Tues and Thurs.

If your training is anything like ours where there is lots of sprint work and anaerobic drills then there is no way you would be able to perform these to your best level which I think you should be looking to do if you want to be picked.

Example of a set up a coach at a top flight league club gave me in a meeting last week

Mon: Lower
Tue: Upper
Thurs: Whole body

(obviously with skills, conditioning and playing mixed in)

THE TRICK IS not to nuke the muscles but to lift heavy and fast but with volume dialed in so that you can function properly. You don;t waste time with lat extensions etc, it's pulls, presses, deads, squats and unilateral work as well as oly/power movements

Also, it's worth mentioning that the above is in the context of support from massage therapists and people like myself checking the other factors. However it's a good set up to look at.
