unfuelled cardio, morning cardio - does it really matter?
-
18 October 2009 00:10
EDIT - sorry I posted in wrong section, meant to put in cardio section so, I am adding more cardio into my regime, as my fat loss has been at a stand still for too long! I want to look/be a stone ligther by christmas really so, cardio... when id the ideal time? or is there one? I find jogging at 9.5km/hr for 30-40 mins and then 10 - 15 cross trainer ok, but should I really have to worry about unfeulled, fuelled, etc? I do different shifts, and sometimes hows are all over the place, but I will try to do what it takes to get lean also, heart rate... should I consider investing in a heart rate monitor? or is that abit unneccesary? cheers!

It maybe makes a small amount of difference, but really it'r mroe important to do the cardo when is convenient to you. If it doesn't suit yor shift doing it first thing, then don't worry

sometimes i start work at 6am, sometimes i start at 8am or 11am or 2pm, i still fit in my morning cardio, if it means waking at 3am, then so be it
I do a lot of push ups and sit ups. And I drink plenty of milk.

Heart rate monitors are useful if you are really geeky and like to know all the numbers, but it's more important that you are working at a rate where you are breathing quite heavy, but could just hold a conversation and starting to sweat a bit.

Short answer, work hard don't buy into the 'fat loss zone' bulls**t and do it whenever, ultimately the calorie surplus is the issue, not so much the time of day.
