Green Mag - During Workouts?
-
20 October 2009 13:31
Hellooo I have been using SizeOn for th epast month - its good and allows an extra couple of reps. However, I now am looking to switch to green mag as results have plateud, can anyone tell me if it is cool to drink green mag during workouts? Label states to drink pre or post, but I usually take a pre wo nox product before working out and like the idea of drinking during. Help is appreciated.

During workout should be fine mate, but you could take green mag 20/30mins pre wo then take your nox 10/15 mins pre wo. Green mag's good stuff, let us know how you get on with it mate. Good luck.

Ice a mate of mine got a tub of green mag and a tub of no shotgun v3. Took the pair of them 30 mins before training and he said it gave him the best pumps he has ever had and could knock out more reps than before at same weights. Guess the question of if you can take green mag with a pre workout supp has been answered for me.

Yeah good idea mate, both could be mixed pre wo, but the taste will be random, i would try mixing them and see what it tastes like, would be handier taking one drink rather than two pre wo, up to Mr lover.

Ive just ordered some Green Mag from Predator (cost £36 in total) to coincide with the extreme nox pump I should receive tomorrow. I havent used creatine for months and pre-workout supplementation for 3 weeks (I know they have creatine in them, but you get the point) - im missing its effects, placebo or not. Ive bought it purely on the strength of the reviews and its cost per serving value and im really looking forward to stacking the two together. Really really. ice - you sure youre not a controlled labs representative lad? Haha. For the first week im going to try it after straight after a workout, and see if it will help that strength (thats all I want it for) as i'll leave the rest to the nox pump. Joe

As said would probably be fine to take during workout, although best to follow instructions, take it around 20mins before workout would be best tho imo.

I used to just mix the Green Mag into my pre-wo supp, you will barely taste it because you're just using one scoop of Green Mag whereas the chances are you're probably using 2-3 scoops of whatever pre-wo supp you're using. Works fine mate!

Whatever works best from you from a covience perspective. Will the creatine you ingest DURING your workout impact performance, hell no, it actually wont get into your blood after ingesting for 30-40 mins. This is what the researchers call LAG time. Once it gets into the blood it then need to be absorbed by the muscle and phosphorylated. Simply put, the creatine you ingest during your workout can not be used to increase performance. Creatine's effects are accumulative and only until muscle creatine levels reach a certain point will they start to impact performance. Having said all that, from a muscle UPTAKE perspective taking creatine around one's workout is a good thing! And if its convienient for you, take it whenever, as long as it doesn't cause any GI distress during your workout.

Yeah that's true but I believe the reason you're recommended to take Green MAG pre-wo is because it contains Taurine and L-Tyrosine, which give you an energy boost. But obviously this is a moot point if the OP is taking a pre-wo supp that will contain these ingredients (and many more) anyway

Yes, agreed but he's stating taking it during training. Again no harm, just want people to be clear that the serving of creatine they ingest during their workout will not impact performance. For some reason, alot of people seem to think it will. There's very few things that actually have either acute effects or work synergisticly with exercise. High levels of amino-acids in the blood during workouts, from a protein synthesis perspective and improved recovery, are the most beneficial ingredeints to bring in. If workouts last 1-1.5hours or greater or training in a fasted states, intraWO carbs will delay fatigue. Other than that and electrolytes, not much else intraWO is going to make a difference.

Is green mag water stable? I took a course of green mag and thought it was a sound product. I stacked it with maniac pre-workout. The reason you can take SizeON during your WO is that its water stable so will survive in the shaker whilst you sip it. Not sure green mag is the same so I would recommend taking it 20 mins before in one hit.

The posts made be athletic edge nutrition are correct. Creatine is not something that works instantly so taking it during training will have no discernible impact whatsoever compared to taking it any other time.

So what about SizeOn? It's Creatine only Gluconate and you drink it while working out (think this the preferred use), they do say you can use it before.

PredatorNutrition The posts made be athletic edge nutrition are correct. Creatine is not something that works instantly so taking it during training will have no discernible impact whatsoever compared to taking it any other time. But neither would it have any affect if taken pre, during, post. With creatine supplementation, timing of consumption is not a huge issue, consistently taking it is.

So can you just clarify. Taking size on during a workout will have no benfit??? I only take size on on training days which is only 4 times a week. This basically will have no benefit to me yeah??? Also you mention about amino style drinks during a workout. If you wanted to use something during a workout this is the best product yeah??? I train early ish lol in the morning bout 45 mins after breakfast. A a pre workout drink is not really an option as they need to be taken on an empty stomach dont they??? Cheers

BCAA is the best to take during a workout, ideally BCAA should be consumed pre/during/after workout. As far as im aware pre wo supps would work best on an empty stomach yes, why not down a 200mg caffeine tablet 30mins pre wo if you can, it will energise you and wake you up.

Good flavoured BCAA drinks are scivation xtend and controlled labs purple wraath, xtend is nicer. Not too expensive and not the cheapest pricewise, just use it on your workout days imo mate. Wouldnt know too much about size on tbh mate, all i know is that they say take it during wo, i would just take it during wo tbh. If you want your question answered drop thaifighter a PM or something.

Taking ANY creatine during a workout will not have a performance impact on THAT workout. Creatine's affects are acumulative. Taking creatine 4x a week, could likely be enough to saturate your muscles and bring about the desired performance effects. I usually take creatine 4-5x week and get great gains. I'm just saying the dose of creatine you take DURING your workout does not affect that workouts performance. But when you take if for a few days straight, it does start building in your muscles and impacting strength/power. The best peptide/EAA product to take DURING your workout is ours :) You could experiment taking the preWO product BEFORE you eat. Main thing is the food will blunt the stim/energy aspect of the formula if you take it after. You could also try taking a powder preWO supplement 15 mins preWO, they often are absorbed pretty quickly as long as your meal wasn't too heavy or filled with fat!

Ive taken two servings of this so far, and will take it at the same time everyday. 50 minutes before my workout on training days. I got the sour apple flavour - which isnt unpleasant but very articifical/chemical tasting. Couldnt care less to be honest, im just hoping this stuff will deliver its promises. Joe

I don't see why it wouldn't all the types of creatine in there work and as long as you get 3-5g a day, it should work just fine.
