when does cycle hairloss happen?
20 October 2009 22:21
( permalink)
Evening everyone I have a question about hairloss if you dont mind. I've not really been prone to it normally. Im 26. Today and yesterday however I have noticed that if I run my hands through my hair or ruffle it or whatever, I can get 5-10 hairs that just fall out My most recent cycle was 6 weeks of Hdrol @ 75mg and 6/caps a day of 3-AD for the first 4-5 weeks of the Hdrol. But that finished a month ago (no hairloss noticed at the time) and was followed by an ok(ish) PCT of Nolva for about 2 weeks and AX Advanced PCT for 3 weeks (nolva was cut short as I get very depressed on Nolva, i have begun to notice) Anyone reckon there could be hairloss from a cycle a month after the cycle ends? The only other thing I can think of is that I had a moderately harsh cold/flu thing for about 4 days over the weekend just gone. I dunno. Any opinions? Not much I can do about it, just hope it stops!

I have seen nolva cause hairloss independently of anything else so that is one potential culprit but it is more likely you are susceptible to male pattern baldness. There are various topical hair loss creams which may help but it is something which will always mean a need to tread carefully on your part.

Yea possibly, though I didnt think I was. My dads probably thinning on top (hes over 60) but hes not gone bald. I also ran 6 weeks of Epi many months ago with no issues, followed by Nolva, no problems noticed then. From other peoples experiences, I had been led to believe Epi was harsher on hair than Hdrol (or Hdrol + 3-AD) would be strange innit.

It could just be the case that you were set up for hair loss on your first cycle and you had a shedding episode which you linked to the epi. Hair science is very complex really and not something you can necessarily pinpoint to daily or weekly changes in lifestyle. Either way, I would urge you to take remedial action as soon as you can if the hair loss is a concern.

Masterplan i feel your pain, im the same age as you also and experiencing the exact same. My hair has always been slowly thinning anyway when i look back on photos of me 7 years back it was so thick. I recommend Procerin. Its a herbal supplement with a high effectiveness rate, im on it now and my hair does definately feel thicker.Hope this helps

I'd buy some nozoral 2% shampoo, or boots' generic version of 2% ketoconozole shampoo. They're marketed as anti-dandruff shampoos, but the active ingredient (ketoconozole) helps 'block' the action of DHT on 5AR. Even if used 2-3 times a week, it makes a difference, IME. Lather and leave on for 10-15 minutes before washing. Whilst on cycle you may want to consider using the shampoo EOD as well as perhaps purchasing some topical spironolactone (5%) to combat any potential shedding

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll look into the shampoo tomorrow, maybe the procerin later. So do you guys think it might be from the Hdrol+3-AD cycle which ended a month ago? The Epi cycle which must be 4-5 months ago? Worrying if things that long in the past can affect the hair. Is it not odd that I didnt experience this while actually on either of the 6 week cycles? Either way its all made me a bit paranoid so Ive stopped taking the St Johns Wort, so im not taking anything for anything at the moment.

PredatorNutrition The data is I have seen it with people who have taken it (even in combination with the drug finasteride which should have prevented hairloss). How many people take tamoxifen independantly from other drugs? And to further that, how many people take tamoxifen independantly of any other drugs that you personally know?

Propecia? No one's mentioned this yet....but it's the strongest thing out there to my knowledge.

I do not think it is that rare to see it run alone. I know several who have tried it for either use as a test booster or to treat gyno.

It would be rare indeed for it's use as a 'test booster'. Gyno in bbers would normally be caused by androgen aromatisation. So it could be argued that the androgens are to blame for the shedding.

lets hope it does, but i've had stories related to me of actual users. They didn't get along well with finasteride at all. Everyone's different though; so you never know how you'll respond

Yeah I can't say I agree with propecia use. The effects are insidious and by the time the side effects are noted it is usually too late to totally reverse (based on feedback from people who have used this).

I've never had a problem with propecia. I don't use it year round, only as a 5-ar inhibitor when using exogenous testosterone. My hair is gradually thinning, propecia just assists against an increased rate of loss when on a (testosterone) cycle.

From speaking to people who have used this (10+ people) that is what most people say until they discontinue the products. Then I have heard most who stop after ceasing use reporting: Increased Libido A clearer mind More aggressive traits Better orgasms These were remarked to me by several who said the effects woudl rise gradually after ceasing use (bear in mind most had used continuously for several years which is not comparable to on cycle use).
