In reality, many "rapid weight loss pills" or just plain old "diet pills" are complete bunk. They're often just full of herb extracts and vitamins. These herb extracts have small amounts of science behind them showing the benefits then can exhibit. Benefits which may in theory help weight loss, but in real terms have little to no effect on fat loss. Basically without a diet/exercise regime in place you're wasting your time.
You say you are inactive, this is the first step to change. Get exercising and you will see a positive increase very quickly. Not only will it most likely kick start your fat loss goals, but also make you feel better psychologically (exercise can release feel good hormones/chemicals) and physically (better health, fitness etc).
The only way to loose fat (stored energy) is by forcing your body to utlise stored energy (fat). You do this by not consuming enough calories from food (energy) to main energy requirements (daily life and exercise). However, your body can only use so much stored energy (fat) without going into starvation mode. Meaning metabolism declines (meaning you burn less cals) and generally you feel crap. Fat loss will come to a halt. Bascially you want to burn more cals than you consume, but consume enough to keep your body happy/healthy.
If you're not loosing weight then you're doing one of the following:
1. Eating too much and not doing enough exercise. Therefore your body will see no need to tap into fat stores.
2. You're not eating enough and thus body holds onto fat stores as it think it's being starved.
Depends on how your diet looks to the best advice given, but it's probably a combination of the above two points to why you're not seeing fat loss.
Sort diet out
Start an exercise program
Forget diet pills/ECA etc for now
ECA does not make you rapidly loose weight by the way. It largely suppresses appetite and also gives you energy to perform more exercise. Thus this equates to fat loss, but nothing you can't get without using ECA. It does raise metabolism slightly, but only very minor, first two effects have a more pronounced effect on fat loss imo, especially so after the first 3-4 weeks of use.
EDIT: Beat me to it daz, more you're better at typing than me

but alas all good info as always
