I had a nice roast yestadary. Side of lamb, roast tats in goose fat, parnsips, onions, garlic. Good stuff.

Dose this kinda thing help AK?

Anyway if it's not been asked already what are your plans/goals over the next few years weight training wise. Do you have a body weight in mind, anything competitive etc etc?

Every little helps Iain, as long as it was a good meal.

Well next year i've earmarked a 3/4/5 plate B/S/D if my back continues to play ball with me. Beyond that i've not really thought too much about a bodyweight i'd be happy at, particularly competing.

Currently i feel a little sweaty at 15 stone 7, but nothing terribly uncomfortable. I reckon anything around 14-15 i'd be happy to maintain with good condition.

Competition wise i'll never rule out PL'ing as i do love strength-orientate goals, but for now a crap back and feeling small keeps that particular goal for a rainy day

You shouldn't put off competing until you feel you'll set the world alight with your lifts.

I've had the worst 12 months training since I began - a combination of back injuries and motivation issues have seen me regress. But I still did my first full competition a few months ago, albeit with a total I'm sure I could have easily bettered even 2 years ago, and it's reignited my enthusiasm somewhat.

Join the GBPF, find out where your nearest comp is and lift. You really won't regret it.

And 15 and a half stone? You fat c*nt.

In fairness i've never truly given PL serious thought because of my ongoing back troubles. If i can see out 2010 without any issues then i may start to think about it but my technique for squats and particularly benching will need sorting.

Cnuttifflad i'm probably into the 20's now, but as long as i'm getting stronger and heavier i'm not so fussed about the condition, i can sort that at a later date. Besdies winter's coming and it'll save me buying a coat

CL, sometimes the facts speak for themselves.

We are both lucky that AK_88 makes the burden of proof of twatishness very light for us.

May the lord have mercy on his soul.

AK_88,

If you were a 20kg metal disc, over which celebrity's face you would you like to hover and then let gravity do its fine work?

Tough one.

I would go with Harry Hill though. Although resembling boar somewhat, he's an unfunny knobber.

Good call.

If you could kill Neb with an online blocking or go for a drink with CL, would you choose both and why?

Very good choices. You are an intelligent and thoughtful young man.

I wish you every success in the future, be it as a 20kg metal plate or an online blocking killing machine.

Re:*** Members' Interview with AK_88*** - 04 November 2009 22:16
Can i say your jokes again? They're actually that good.

I'd probably say how friendly the community is. I remember coming here nearly 4 years ago and getting a kick up the arse r/e diet/training and everything else which kicked me into gear. But it wasn't until IB extended an offer of a training session last year, or when Iaink came down for a few sessions with IB and I that i realised how open and forthcoming everyone is with weightlifting to get out and enjoy themselves with one another.

I think it's a shame how some of the arguments spiral out of control sometimes though. I can generally keep up with it in the football threads because it goes round in circles but if another thread starts to heat up i tend to lose interest in it and won't read it any more of it other than the locked message! Maybe i'm just too old for internet arguments now
