if its the same it comes down to signal strength and quality of service, the overall package. are you happy to stay with orange? if you've had no probs with orange then stick with them. but they're french. so i wouldnt.

Orange supposed to be a better network/less busy. Orange are using a 24 month contract which is a long-time for a phone

Only thing I was told was that orange are charging £12 a month insurance on the 3GS. Not sure if o2 are the same. I know my 3G insurance is only about £6

I doubt it. My mate did say there were independant companies who insure them for much less but Im not sure how smooth the process would be with an external. Orange tend to have the phone with you the next day. Might be worth shopping around as £144 a year over over a 2 year contract almost covers the cost of the phone

Orange on some packages give free 3g BUT NOT to Facebook or Spotify. May be important to some. They also offer 18 month contracts but the fone has to be paid for in part.

WOW , wtf are Orange thinking ?!!! i think i may switch to O2 instead as i have broadband with them aswell so maybe save a few £'s on that aswell after my experience with Orange with my old Broadband i dont have faith in them to handle a product like Iphone now i just read Papa's link , putting restrictions on to say you cant use certain websites and such , that is just silly for a consumer, yeah they might be trying to protect their network, but they should have a network in the first place they are confident that can provide the service before they take on a phone like iphone

I *think* that the free wifi is based on a phone number link rather than a login. You certainly won't get phone network data for free. You can get a decent £20 a month unlimited data SIM only deal these days with something like 600 minutes and 3000 texts though

You can always buy out the rest of your contract and get the PAC code within days to use on your new handset. Only if you want to keep the same number

yea commando easy to do , sometimes you cant do it if you are in the early stages of your contract . But called Orange and just requested the lowest package i think was around £20 per month and took away my £6 insurance aswell (which has no canx fee which is good) im thinking of maybe giving my phone then to my mother as she can use it till march as she is on pay as you go atm. i double checked if it would extend my contract but was informed it wouldnt affect the contract length

A lad at work called O2 to get an Iphone and the lad there told him to hold off until 15th Nov as their prices were about to change. Didn't know any more than that and don't shoot the messenger if it's wrong - just thought I'd pass on what I've heard!!

I'd go orange especially if your due an upgrade. When you upgrade with a phone comapny you get a banding from 1~5, 5 being the best. This means that you can have a better phone on a lower tarrif contract depending on your banding. So if the phone is on say a £30 tarrif is generally £100, if your upgrade is banding 5 the phone may be free. This also works if you want a more minutes/text for less a month. Plus with orange you'll automatically recieve a 10% loyalty bonus off your tarriff. ( This should work with iphone i'd imagine) The orange iphone should be out about the 10th of nov, i believe. As for their 3G coverage it is piggy-backed onto the three network now. Three have the best 3G network hands-down so with a phone like the iphone this will be important.

well to be honest i do prefer actually dealing with O2 from my experience i have been with orange for like 10 years now for mobile i have broadband with O2 and now i have mobile with them, i get my Broadband cheaper aswell now due to multi product , and also the knowledge if i do have a problem their customer service is alot better than orange in my experience so far im happy with my choice

Your entitled to your own opinion, but 02 are a bunch of thiefs. They make all their tarrifs crap so you basically have the choice of 1. With the palm pre they want you on a 24 month deal so the phone isn't free unless you go for that deal - or its a crap banding for the shop so they dont make any money on selling it. Don't like 02 but then its not my phone, i would wait and see what voda and orange do to the price of the iphone

Orange's phone pricing is going to be exaclty the same as O2's. I read a review which claimed it will be a whole £0.11p cheaper!

Orange will be same price FOR NOW, as there is enough interest in the phone just being on orange. They will sell just because its a different network. I think eventually the price will go down when voda, three or whoever eventually get it. But that could be a while off yet, its more likely that apple have told orange what to charge for it.

Apple have held the prices artificially high, thus negating any potential savings passed on by the mobile phone companies themselves.

....And Vodafone will probably take it a step further as they consider a pawltry 500mb to be "unlimited" data I am sticking with o2 , they are unbeatable as far as the Data bundle goes IMO. and I don't tend to suffer from the coverage issues that some report. I am already a Vodafone customer(HTC Magic ) and TBH I find Vodafone 3G coverage pretty appalling compared to o2's (which seems to be the opposite of most peoples findings.

When I am outside in Liverpool the 02 3G reception is brilliant. However when I am inside any building whether that be my house, friends houses, pubs or shops I generally lose the 3G. Its really annoying because I always want to check things in the pub and in bed! My friend ordered an orange 3GS the other day and Ive just broke the news. Hes not very happy!

Id go with o2 tbh, i find the signal i get with orange is a load of crap and get better coverage on o2 so have been with them for a fair while and when i get a new contract in the new year will most likely stick with them.
