My face was swollen up like a toad ..? - 04 November 2009 20:57
Its been a crappy couple of weeks. Last week my Dad and Sister both had this stomach bug which involved them being violently sick for two days solid. I thought i had caught the same thing, went to work to do a test on a piece of machinery and my stomach and head started going queezy.  Luckily i passed the test with almost full marks yay...but felt really rough for the next couple of days so didn't eat much.

Then on the weekend woke up with a really bad fever so was bed ridden the full day. Went to work the next day still feeling like crap, and it was one of the busiest days this year...sods law eh!

Then yesterday i got a sore on my face. Got up in the morning and looked in the mirror and my right eye looked like id took a full on haymaker from George Foreman. Rang the NHS helpline and they explained it was an infected hair folicle, like a boil. And the reason my whole face and eye were swollen is my immune system kicking in. Fortunatley its started to clear up today so hopefully on the mend now. Just weighed myself though and ive lost about 6lbs this week.

Sorry to rant on a bit, anyone else been feeling like crap in the winter run up?

Odd you mention this.
I had a really bad stomach for just over a day - felt like I was going to be sick constantly and couldn't eat. Then, yesterday lunchtime, it turned into a real flu-ey type feeling and I felt mega cold and knackered.
Went to bed at 8:45 last night, sweated all night and woke up at 6:45 this morning right as rain.
Might be the same as you had.

Yeah sounds quite similar tbh. You know your rough when you have zero appetite. Today mines come back a bit so feels better to be eating well.

I think the sore on my face was because i was so run down. Really crapped it when i first saw myself in the mirror. Face looked like the hunchback of notredame lol.

Yeah I have been ill on and off for about three weeks. Flu and dodgy bell. Seems to go but then the cold comes back again. Had the most annoying cough for about two weeks too.

Feeling better now, touch wood *touches his head in a hilarious manner*

yeah i had a couple of weeks ago, lost 17lbs in a week, mainly through sweating and obviously not eating. had hallucinations (really fuked up too!) and if i put my body out from under the cover would shiver like mad, under the cover and i would heat up, my sheets were soaking for a good 4 days of constant sweats, phoned NHS helpline up and they just said it was flu/fever going round, on the last day i took 20mg valium and 4 co-codamol as i couldnt sleep, woke up the next day feeling ok and could eat again and fever passed.

appetite has been screwed since though, as has training which is a shame as it was going so well.

it happens... crap, but totally inevitable.... happens to everyone one way or another

I suppose you can console yourself with the fact that it won't last forever and you will be better in a few days

I seem to have avoided any illness or colds / flu this year (so far) thankfully.

I' ve been waking up in the mornings very bunged up for a few days. Mostly by lunch I'd be feeling fine. Yesterday though I wasn't partially due I think to our office being kept the temperature of a greenhouse, and should I so much as look at a window with thoughts of opening it, I find myself on the receiving end of a dozen sets of evils from the women I work with who are sat in coats and scarves pretending to shiver.

Soon as I''m out in the fresh air or a ventilated house I'm fine. That said I slept most of yesterday aft on the sofa and had a fever all night. Feel loads better today.
You did gain far too much fat though,I mean, you're not muscular at all, you're just a fat mess.

I've been ill since Monday, but put it down to food poisoning?
Pooing all day, no food, hardly any fluids (but never felt hungry or thirsty) as a result no energy so felt tired all the time. After a couple of days I braved some soup and bread and they'd go right through me within an hour. Also really bad stomach cramps too.

Thankfully, I feel on the mend now
