Getting the Ab oblique V.... 08 November 2009 16:38 (permalink)
Hello,

I'm just starting to include abs into my workouts once/twice a week now just so when the summer comes i don't have to try and work on my abs heavier but i was wondering from experience, what the best way they've found to get the Ab oblique V is?
I've got one but its not that amazing and when looking at the front cover of something such as mens health (despite i know they have a low BF%) some of them have amazing V's.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers

Yeah i understand about the lighting too, I was just wondering about specific exercises to add bulk to the abs if that makes sense? I was doing some DB sides last year but then my lower back hurt after, unless it was just my technique.

mainly overhead presses and deadlifts and squats.

any other abb excercise wont add bulk etc but will aid in endurance and flexabilty and injury prevention.

you really just need to get your bodyfat % right down

If you want to know how to properly work the deep core abs, get yourself along to a pilates class. Don't let the fact that the classes are full of girls put you off, these classes are tough.

All movement is supposed to starts with a deep core contaction, but for most newbies these muscles aren't working properly.

So for injury prevention, stronger and faster muscle gains, and deep cut abs... try it.

Right im off to find my local pilates class!

Low body fat, powerlifters have some of the strongest abs around yet they dont have the 'v's.

A combination of low body-fat and exercises which will target the obliques. Side crunches, hanging leg raises, hanging knee raises, jack-knifes are all good for working the lower area of your abdominal region.

I know you'll be thinking that low body-fat is coming up an awful lot when asking about it.. but seriously take it on-board. If you're interested in properly seeing your abs, then your battle should be taking place mostly in the kitchen.
