TITO ORTIZ V FOREST GRIFFIN - 10 November 2009 00:08
Who is gonna win this one at UFC 106?

Best odds are at Stanjames for Ortiz@ 13/10
Griffin 4/9

I am very tempted to put £100 on Tito.  His first fight back in the UFC and will be keen to be back with a bang, he's already beaten Griffin, he very nearly beat the Dragon with a last minute submission.  Has beaten some real good guys i his time.

Forest on the other hand can be hit or miss.  Beats Rampage Jackson and Shogun Rua, but has lost to Keith Jardine and Houston Alexander.  Recently lost to Evans and a totally awful fight/fix against Anderson Silva.

Any thoughts?

Re:TITO ORTIZ V FOREST GRIFFIN - 10 November 2009 11:11
griffin never fought houston alexander, that was jardine mate! brtual TKO in the first round haveing already been knocked down by jardine himself...

im goin with griffin!
the guy's not the most talented fighter, but at the same time has some serious skills.. quite predictable in his 'unpredictability' if u know what i mean, but still.. can bang, and has some v good BJJ..
Tito dint leave the UFC on the best run of results, his win over forrest imo wasn't clear cut at all, not convinced by him over the last few yrs..
this is what i dont get too... he beats Shogun, then beats rampage for the belt, obviously loses it to rashad yet shogun gets a shot at the belt at the recent UFC event..?? not sure i agree with that too much really..
but yeh, im goin with griffin

If Tito is as healthy now as he says he is then he takes it.

Forests defense is ridiculous, if you put him in with anyone with good boxing power hes going to get knocked out......like most fighters in the ufc, thats why silva has done so well.

Titos also been working with Freddie Roach for this one. I think I'm right in saying Tito has never been knocked clean out, add some boxing skills to that and Forrest is demolished again.

tito's stand up isnt great tho!!
fair enough it may be better now, but forrests striking is good, if he can defend tito's take downs and keep it standing i think he'll take it.. its a tough one tho as tito may come back better than ever! he's definately capable of it as his training and determination is always top notch.. one things for sure, neither will gas quickly!!

Im gonna go for Griffin in this one, his heart is the biggest ive ever seen in a man (except for Coutore). That alone wins him some points in my eyes. He's a hard one to crack.

If the nights as good as UFC 105 were in for a good un!

They are the most ridiculous odds i have seen in a long time. Tito is sharpening up his stand up and has better wrestling skills than Griffin. Griffin hasnt got enough power to trouble Ortiz on the feet. I'm going to put £150 on Tito in the fight, think he'll win via TKO

Griffin takes this in my opinion. After the A.Silva debacle he's going to have a point to prove and I think he'll grind out the decision.

Tito for the win. If he is back on form and injury free i still see him being a force in the UFC. Him against Machida showed he can still roll with the best. Good to see him back.

Ortiz. I can't see Griffin being the fighter he was after that last fight.

OMG what the hell just happened???

Tito did nothing round 3-just let forest beat him up.
What a waste of money.

I am pretty pissed off especially with betting a large sum like that. I scored the fight 28-28 giving Tito 1st and 2nd and Forrest 10-8 in the 3rd but it was close.

Makes we wonder if Tito was feeling an injury in the 3rd , definitely had plenty of gas in the tank but did virtually nothing allowing Forrest to nick it.

Looks like the trilogy will be on.

Re:TITO ORTIZ V FOREST GRIFFIN - 22 November 2009 13:08
not impressed with tito at all...
looked very stiff, walkin round like a zombie onto the end of Forrest's jab..
im a big forrest fan, he aint the best fighter, but i love watchin him in there..
neither of them looked fully fit in the fight.. both looked pretty slow, forrests hands looked slower than usual..impressed with forrests ground defence tho, tito, even not 100% fit, is still a massive force on the ground, and forrest did very well from his back, and that sweep was beautiful :-)
i had just to forrest t be honest.. second round, although tito got him to the ground and landed some nice hits, forrest domintaed the first 2 mins or so on the feet, and then finished on top too.. i justgave him it!!!

HOW THE F*CK ONE OF THE JUDGES SCORED IT 30-27 TO FORREST THO I'LL NEVER KNOW!!!

I think Griffin definately won, Tito had some sort of injury, watch him throw his right hand he had no twist in his back and hips atall. Hopefully a new injury and not a permanent thing from his surgery. Koscheck very impressive apart from faking injury from that illegal knee. A good event I thought even the prelim fights.

Tito didnt look like the tito of old.. very slow, and just didnt have no snap. Im assuming he must have had the impact of his injury.. If he had a disc buldge thats causing pain that could explain it. As that can be painful. Griffin did win and the last round it was all one way. I know Griffin can be a little sloppy, but was still pretty good, I still cant get over how Anderson Handed him his ass.

Conditioning wise i think tito didnt look his best either. He looked in better condition when he fought Lyoto. I think he needs to get back into his training and sort out his injuries.. im sure theres stil life in the old dog yet..

whats this injury you talk about?

Before the fight he said he was 100% fully fit for the 1st time in 6 years.

He said at the end he had another disc problem in his back, whether he did or not I dont know but he did not look comfortable throwing punches. He also said he had a cracked skull LOL. TBH his excuse making at the end came off as totally pathetic, just accept it and move on, no way you had a cracked skull.

what about josh the cheat koscheck???

Took 5 minutes recovering from nothing! then blatently poked rumbles eyes himself! Wisj Joe Rogan would have more balls at the end, he basically let josh call out dan then walk off. the bloke is a tool

yehg im not a koscvhek fan at all..
blatently faked that knee to the eye.. f*ckin ridiculous! as soon as it happened i called it, that it never toughed his eye.. took rogan and goldberg about 5 minutes of replays t get it right the fools!! they kept sayin how koschek wouldnt fake an injury either, even though they could blatantly see he did.. was gutted for johnson as i think he's a decent prospect.. dint take advantage of his reach advanatage tho, but disappointed by him on the night to be honest..
little Nog was good..nice knockout!

Re:TITO ORTIZ V FOREST GRIFFIN - 23 November 2009 14:15
Tito turned into a zombie in the third round, when watching I was wondering whether it was on purpose to set up the third fight?

Koshcheck was thumbed in the eye prior to the knee, they kept on showing the wrong section on the replay. The thumb hit his eye just before the knee but they kept on replaying the knee over and over again like idiots. Anyway he wasn't faking, but got Johnson back two or three times himself, those two obviously don't like each other much! Then again there's not much to like about Koshcheck, he always comes across as a prick

He's right you know

Gotta say I think Koschecks attitude is great, doesn't give a f**k what anyone thinks of him.

*EDIT*
Balls, I stole a gif of the eye poke from sherdog but the guys obviously deleted it.

GSP would waste him.

He doesnt care about being liked solely because he will never be liked! The attitude he shows is all he can do, cos he will never win any fans over.

If he got thumbed in the eye before the knee, he shouldve put his hands up and said, not acted like hed been kneed in the head when he hadnt.

Joe Rogan sucks imo, far too biased in regards to the ufc and being positive. Id love to see big Bas brought in to team up with him, thinking back, Bas' commentry was one of the main reasons i enjoyed pride so much.
