please review this diet for me 10 November 2009 15:43 (permalink)
It's  for a 24 yrd old girl, 1.50 m for 51 kg, she does spinning and cardio 3-4 times a week and is willing to lose about 8 kg..

I slightly modified the sample cutting diet in the article section as I thought it was a bit too much protein as she doesn't really want to put on lean mass, she wants to lose fat, but feel free to tell me what should be changed in the diet below. Oh and she hates oats hence why the all bran cereals and no oat cakes. thanks in advance.

Wake 6.30 am Strong black tea / coffee   40-50 mins low intensity cardio

7.30 breakfast 30g all bran cereal + skimmed milk +
3 egg whites + 1 egg yolk scrambled OR 30gr whey protein   200ml fresh fruit juice

10.00 70g chicken breast   2 medium GI rice/cereal biscuits   Fruit   Mug green tea

12.30 150g tuna or mackerel salmon or chicken breast   30g wholemeal pasta or basmati rice   Large mixed salad   Mug green tea

15.00 70g chicken breast   2 medium GI biscuits   fruit   Mug green tea

45 mins pre-workout   3 medium GI biscuits   Banana   Drink water

45 mins intense weight training   Immediately post workout 30g whey protein powder

 Evening meal
60 mins later
100g lean red meat or 150g salmon steak
40g wholemeal pasta or 40g basmati rice or 2-3 small boiled new potatoes   Large serving mixed vegetables

Bedtime 100g cottage cheese

Yes looks OK, any ideas what the calorie count is roughly in that lot?

I'd drop the fruit juice at breakfast personally and have either a yoghurt or a piece of fruit.  I alway think fruit juice is a bit pointless sorry!

no idea mate, it ressembles the diet from the articles section that was posted by one of the mods on here (I suppose) so it is to be trusted but since I didn't know if that was for a body builder who wanted to add muscle whilst loosing fat, I changed it a bit..

If it's fresh orange juice it ain't all bad though is it, I suppose you're talking about all the fancy juices most people drink ?

No the point is that fruit juice has a lot of calories for a small amount of 'filling you up' potential. Hence the small piece of fruit as an alternative whitch will have more volume and be slower to digest for roughly the same amount of calories.
