Pre and post-workout... - 11 November 2009 00:04
Hello,

I'm currently making some adjustments to my diet and working on it but i was just curious to what people would recommend for pre-workout food and also how long before the workout?
And with regards to post-workout food what would you recommend, how long after is okay and is it okay to include on top of a protein shake?

Cheers

Generally speaking complex carbs and a solid protein source 1 - 2 hours before the gym, whey protein and glucose straight after, then complex carbs and solid protein again within an hour

for example, when bulking you might have:

11am - 6 whole eggs, 4 slices wholemeal toast / 300g cottage cheese, 100g oats

12:30 gym

1:45 - 50g whey protein, 50g glucose

2:45 150g chicken breast, 100g rice, veg / 150g steak, baked sweet potato, salad
