I-Force Maximize - mini review - 11 November 2009 14:48

Just wanted to post a quick review of I-Force Maximize, recieved a sample from Predator Nutrition and used this pre workout, and loved it. This stuff tastes great and really gives a pre workout boost, my focus was spot on and my energy levels were sustained throughout the workout. The powder mixes really easilly aswell and did i mention it tastes great he he. I have a high tolerance to stimulants and was impressed by how much this perked me up. I think it would make a great pre workout supplement for weights and even more so for some serious cardio. I shall be ordering myself a tub.....very soon! Which is annoying cos i am trying to consolidate how many supps i use and not add to them!

Good review - I think it has a key ingredient missed by most other preworkout products that accounts for the effects - namely geranium oil. That would make it more effective than caffeine reliant formulas.

It is compared to a capsule formula but it is combined here with caffiene, tyrosine etc. Also, I guess most people prefer 2 scoops of pre-workouts in any case. Personally, I would be happy to send you a sample but 1 scoop is quite a lot.

I also think the product should be looked at as more than a pre-workout blend as other similar products do not have the BCAA content, glutamine etc that Maximize has.

PN any chance of buying a couple of samples? I am always on the lookout. Sometime using one type of pre-wo then changing to a different might be ideal or just looking for that one for you.

I used the sample of Maximise yesterday.  Theres alot of powder there for just a 16g serving!

Product was okay, had loads of energy, some focus and all that.  Nowhere near Extreme Nox Pump's effects though.

Still, worth a punt if its for free, eh!

Yes!
L-Glutamine 500mg per serving? Any science to show half a gram does anything?
tyrosine 375mg? any science?
Leucine 750mg-three quarters of a gram-will it do anything?
caffeine 100mg?
cit malate 500mg-half a gram? any science ?

really small amounts of 'stuff' -will they do anything at such a low dose?

Okay good points and I will answer each in turn.

1/2. I doubt 500mg of glutamine will do that much by itself but as little as a couple of grams has been shown to have positive benefits. Now, I think by combining it with another set of nutrients (BCAA's) with proven anti-catabolic properties, IForce are looking for their to be synergy between the two. Ditton for L-Leucine which is a BCAA.

3. Caffine dosed at 100mg is actually quite a lot in my book and the standard dose for caffeine capsules and is stronger than most energy drinks like Red bull. I am not sure if you are aware but caffine, tyrosine and geranium are all synergistic so you would need less of each if utilised in a formula.

4. As for Citrulline Malate, I again would refer you to the fact that ingredients such as these gain additional benefits by way of synergy with other nutrients in the formula. On top of that though, these nutrients would offer a top up of nutrients sourced in other products.

No-one is saying maximize is meant as a replacement for CM supplementation but if you are getting a little extra it means you woudl not need to spend so much on a specific product.

For additional data points:

http://forum.bodybuildi...1&highlight=maximize
http://forum.bodybuildi...1&highlight=maximize
http://forum.bodybuildi...1&highlight=maximize

Hopefully, that gives people some food for thought.

Glutamine - may only be 0.5g but glutamine doesn't 'do' anything per se anyway - it supplements glutamine intake which is needed in good amounts, why not half a gram more?

Leucine - see above

caffeine - 100mg is high mate - 80mg is the average for a mug of coffee, so this is above the norm

Then there's decent amounts of synephrine - that's quite a respectable dose for one serving

Looks like a decent product to me.

I too have tested the product as a sample thanks to Predator Nutrition and I'd have to agree with what was originally written / typed.

Tastes great and mixes well - I mixed it up in a shaker.
Used it on a back / biceps routine which I find to be quite demanding and I had great energy all the way through.
Not sure if it was coincidence but I felt really hungry after my workout. Took it at 18:30 before gym at 19:00 ate at 20:30 and bed by 22:30 - I found it difficult to get to sleep.
Good product and if I ever feel the need for pre workout boosts I think Ill get some, but will have to try a few more sachets to see if the sleep thing was a factor.

J55ttc - Personally I would use a half dose of Maximize if taken within 4 hrs of bedtime. Even then you will notice a boost to training intensity. Unlike the products out there with ultra high caffeine content, I find it generally tolerable as far as sleep goes if you take it a little earlier. The Geranium tends to clear the system in around 4 hrs I would say.

To Uj - Hopefully you have seen plenty of evidence from parties, including from James to consider more carefully the benefits of Maximize.

I-Force said on their site that many products are underdosed. LOL. Ironic or what?
I'm not doubting the synephrine or geranium in general, just the 'pixie' dust sprinkle amounts of glutamine, leucine, valine, etc. obviously a 'cosmetic' exercise.

Maybe those are just there for 'cosmetic', but so what?  Most other supplement complex's do this and it's not as if them being there is worthless.

Interesting thread. Good review vasquez.

I too question the small amounts of this and that, but i feel supp companies simply put it in to make us think its effective when its not directly effective pre wo and that alot of ingrediants they have included need to be consumed on a daily basis to be effective, rather than them putting it in to boost our glutamine, CM, etc.

Ill be honest if i seen BA, CM in a pre wo formula along with caffeine, creatine and the usual other ingrediants it would appeal to me more than the names of ingrediants i wasnt aware of, its just good tactics by supp companies.

However with pre wo supps, you got to try it to see how well it works for you, as will are all different.

As stated supplemental amounts of these (in addition to other amounts obtained in your diet/supplement program) is what you should focus on. That and the actual real world effects which are very much positive.

When you say small amounts of this and that I hope you are aware that virtually all pre-workout formulas contain a load of ingredients within a "propietary blend" which is another way of failing to disclose the actual amounts. However, if you see a propietary blend contains 20g and has 100 nutrients it is clear many will be in trace amounts.

As for including ingredients you are unaware of I would have thought all the ingredients in Maximize are pretty well known and established??

Yeah im aware of the propietary blend mate. I was talking in general not about maximise reg.

Re:I-Force Maximize - mini review - 28 November 2009 22:11
I just used my sample of maximise from Reggie and I got to say it was jolly good stuff!

I've got a tub of no-xplode left but this was much better, taste-wise, focus-wise, it was all spot on.

Also I never train after 3pm as I'm usually too tired but today I had to do my back session at 7pm and I was tearing through it on this stuff.

And the other benefit over noxplode and nanovapor is that I didnt need to drop my guts 20 mins after necking it.

Top stuff and I'm buying a tub soon even though I've got a load of noxplode.
