Bodybuilding and Acne

Hi ppl, it's been a long time since I've posted. I have a problem. When I don't work out - say after a month or two - my skin goes from a fair amount of acne to back to clear. Then when I start working out again my skin will gradually get worse and worse. After the second week, I'll get a bit of acne but by the sixth week I can get some really bad, fat nodules around 5mm in diameter. Does anybody else have this problem? I stopped using protein shakes because I heard they can aggravate the situation, plus I don't really care about getting huge anymore (I just like working out; I like doing cardio, lifting weights and feeling that super endorphin high afterwards) but my general appetite and protein intake naturally increases dramatically after regular training. So are there any supplements I can take or anything that will help improve my skin when I work out? Cheers.
All in all it was all just bricks in the wall...
