Handlebar Moustaches
17 November 2009 06:53
( permalink)
I am at this moment cultivating a handel bar moustache. My wife hates it, I am rather taken with it. Apparently it makes me look like a mean old bastard, which as I am soon to return to door work is no bad thing methinks. One of the young trendy lads at work reckons they are on their way "in", but if that happens its shelf life will be rather limited ! Thoughts?

I'm with your wife. I haven't seen it but I trust her judgement. I am all for facial hair, but only of the low maintainance variety

so you're going for the full on Bronson look then? I'm growing a massive beard at the moment and my wife pretends to hate it. I threatened to shave it all off the other night and she actually persuaded me not to

RACK's got one. He claims to have shaved it off, but clearly he's lying because he looks like Ron Jeremy now.

Handlebars are a tricky one , as with most facial hair, they look brilliant in their majestic glory , but the during the growth period , they can look pretty crap . It's a bit like a dirty bulk for a bodybuilder - you look and feel crap for a while , but you know the end result will be worth it ! I shaved my beard off again recently ,and am now looking very feminine ad positively "Beta" with barely half an inch of beardage - but I must struggle on through.

I can't believe i'm the first to say - the MT collective demands pics! You could keep growing it and start a charity collection for Children in Need or something I know we're getting the bronson references but i prefer the Milkshake tache
Awesome pic, but Tony you're not doing yourself many favours posting up tips on preventing the gag reflex and then a picture of a guy touching his toes - Ak

A moustache of any variety is just wrong, I have never in my life met anyone that suits one. Think of all the food you'll get stuck in it Reborn!

My Stepdad has had a moustache pretty much all the time. He did however shave it off once and he looked about 10 years older. His brother is the same funnily enough. We call them the chuckle brothers! Agree with BBC though most people don't suit them. There is nothign worse then a really bushy untrimmed tache.

Well done Reborn. Moustaches (not to be confused with Mo's as that what idoits grow) are great. A fine warrior tradition! Good job Reborn. The only moustache that should not be cultivated are the too well groomed/trimmed efforts as sported by those foolish enough to take a trimmer to one. Normally sported by those with not enough class to carry off a proper moustache. Further they are not an item that should be grown because of an acute whim of the trendy and insubstantial!!!

LOL, I did have one for about 15mins after I shaved the Mr T beard off. If someone is on my Facebook, please feel free to post the pic up of me with it on as I can't access it from work. I was pretty proud of it in a 70's porn way, but the GF wasn't struck, think it tickled too much

Ill get a pic up later, its in its early stages but is clearly struggling in two small patches (at the edge of where a normal moustache finishes). I have also retained my thick tuft of hair in the middle. My wife actually described it as hideous, which was a mistake because now I am growing it to prove its my face, not hers !! (However it may well go next week) Pics later.
