Stinky Gloves! 18 November 2009 09:54 (permalink)
Through vigilant airing I've managed to keep my gloves stink free for almost a year but now they are beginning to get a little funky.

I've heard bad things about using deodarisers with claims that they don't do the gloves a lot of favours so does anyone have any home remedies that they can recommend.

I'm thinking of putting some cat litter in a sock and stuffing the sock in the glove.  Does anyone know if this will work?

I have heard that the sock method with a bit of cedar wood bark works well and gives the gloves a nice 'nature' smell, but I can't seem to find any cedar wood bark!

Dont put anything in the glove itself it will irritate your skin when you sweat instead put them in the freezer and for some reason this works.

^^^Hahahaha seriously though this does work used to do it with my motorcycle gloves aswell. I wouldnt advocate using anything like febreeze inside the glove as it will irritate your skin.

I'm going to try the freezer trick but it's a little difficult as it's full of cow and pig.

A tip I used was get a pair of trainer insoles, cut them in half and put them in, leave the other one in your kit back, helps reduce the stinky smell and the cheapest option.

Soak 'em in Milton overnight.  Works wonders for bike gloves.
