Not sure about up north mate-Theres loads of casual work available in Sydney probably pic some up on the way down the coast as well, weve just taken on about 10 backpackers over Xmas. If your on a Holiday visa you may have trouble getting decent work.

Maan, it's a headache getting into Australia. Not that I've been but read about the procedure and it's pretty long and tedious. Went to New Zealand, and it was the total opposite, the trusty British passport works wonders there, no visa or anything needed, it's just like going to Spain.

Well except it takes almost 24 ****ing hours to get there

Um, what?  The process is almost identical.  No Visa is required to visit either NZ or Aus for someone on a UK passport.

I read that you needed something called an ETA which is like a Visa basically. I was also told that I'd probably have to go through some stringent interviews seeing as I was travelling alone and didn't have any kind of family or friends there really
