I've a deload week coming up soon. On DL day I think I'm just going to do 1 min of BW (100kg). I imagine it will result in 10 mins spent trying to get my breath back as anything over 20 reps ****s me up good and proper. There definitely won't be any rowing afterwards though, that's for sure!!

First time I've done anything like that and it was hard like, the rowing had me puffing and jelly-legged, but that deadlift opening just took me to a place I've never been before, I was truly fcuked for a good half hour!

Could I have beaten Johnny?!  Now that is a question!

I think he won by a fair margin on me so not really.   I did c*ck the tyre flip up, if you look my first one was perfect and exactly what I wanted, but in a spazzy moment I grabbed the inside rim to flip the next one and fell into it!  So I guess if I hadn't have c=cked it up, I would have got a higher score overall, but probably still have finished second overall.

If I'd have trained specifically for it and my cardio fitness was a bit better, I'd have given him a run for his money!

When I joined though, I had no real thoughts of finishing high up, I just fancied the experience, I absolutely, genuinely wasn't expecting 2nd place, but as a couple of people said, both me and Boar were consistently getting in the top group, so whereas people who finished above us in one event, obviously came much further down on other event, so although it seemed unlikely to us that we were doing so well, our consistent points prevailed over people getting max points on one event and very little on the next.

the sled drag was silly close - 1.5 seconds between 1st n 5th ... but the fastest won, simple as that !!

looks like a fun little comp, however i think the rowing would have had me curled in a ball in my own sh1t and spew after about 4 mins! :-) haha, with urgent quad replacement needed!

When i lived in Cambridge and knew a few people from the local rowing clubs that was a common sight apparently.

The concept2 rower is great and i'd love one for at home, but i think i'd stick to a level that didn't involved puking!

im doin a comp this weekend and then will be looking to train there as often as i can , make use of some of the wierd conditioning kit + strongman stuff

Probably not- it is great but I'm lazy when it comes to driving to the gym now, so maybe once a week and occasionally with Boar when I need the change in routine!  Awesome gym- crap location (for me)!
 
I seem to recall seeing something about the Expo comp but I can't remember the details, isn't it very limited places?  Wouldn't mind having ago at the Exertain fitness model thing but the details of what Dean actually wants don't seem to exist?  ie, does he want a 'bodybuilder' or a 'fitness model' look?

What's the emphasis on different events towards the overall ranking? I could probably only do 30 bodyweight DL's right now but I've got a 6min 28 second 2k time, though the thought of doing that again literally makes me shake with fear.
