id class myself as a fairly strong and in shape weaight lifter eg im 16 and a half stone 5 ft 9 and a boddy fat of in around the 20% mark,  the last time i cheched was about 6 months ago then it was 17% but i recon its gone up a lil bit cause iv been slacking off a lil lately,
i can bench 110kg 10 reps 4 sets most days and deadlift 170kg 10 reps for the first two sets, and 190kg 5 reps the next 2 sets
my squats are the same as the deads,

wel i hav a question if theres any experts here..........
right i went on a 15 mike run today and i went on the same run this day lastweek and my plane is to do the same run every week once a week, so im wondering if this is going to effect my strenght and stanima in the gym? (even if i eat more carbs and protine)
i just wanto build up my cardio and to get ripped (burn fat) im just looking for advise on this and that leads me back to my origional question, am i going the right way about it?

thank you for taking the time to read this post and any help would be much appreicated

I managed to bulk up fine whilst still doing regular running, although not as big a distance as you're doing. As long as your weight training plan is taking into account your run, such as allowing suitable rest periods. Plus, as you've mentioned, allowing for it within your diet, such as a big focus on carbs close to the run.

Doing one big run like that once a week would'nt be my choice for cutting up whilst weight training though. I'd prefer less distance but done a few times a week.

My Journal ...shape up time!

PB's (88kg-natural)

Squat - 135kg
Bench - 125kg x 2
Deadlift - 230kg

Good job i read all the thread, i thought you was gonna do a marathon while doing curls for a second!

15 miles is a very long distance,it will be very difficult to keep your glycogen levels up for that distance and you could be burning off muscle. You would have to get carbed right up to do that sort of distance.
Cut it down to 3 x 5 mile sessions

Haha i know its a long distance but the only reason im able to do such miles once a week is because i was big into my bikes befor i started lifting i used to cycle 40/50 miles a day no bother,
but im not too sure what you mean by "cut down to 3x5 sessions)
could you explain this to me please if its not too much trouble
thanks

Instead of doing 1 run of 15 miles. Split it down to 3 seperate runs of 5 miles.
