Cheers L Dazc: that flap was in the new last week. 3 or 4 teams put in a complaint but they also thought they would lose LOL which they have

Just watching the pre qualy buildup. So much history!!!!! I'm had goose bumps most of the programme. Proper excited now. I don't think anyone can predict this one. Alonso has to be up there in the Ferrari, even though i hate him!!!

Gap appears huge but track is the longest. Schumacher is way off Rosbery but hopefully he can catch up. Massa fantastico! Roll on race day!

Anyone think that was a bit of an anti-climax? Were it not for Vettel's problems, there would have been no overtaking at the top of the field after the first lap! I can't help thinking that no refuelling might bring back the early 90's days when the fastest cars just stormed off out of sight. Anyone remember Mansell lapping most of the field?

Yep, it's pretty ****! The rear diffusers actually showed to stop overtaking, alonso couldn't even drive close to vettel when he was catching because it was causing his engine to over heat! So we don't even get good chases! It's seems that's the case for all the cars! No refueling is crap as they are all just gonna stay out and use the super hard compounds! It'll just be back to procession driving! Last year the cars where right and the rules where fine, why did they have to fcuk up a good thing!?

Lets see how the other tracks fair, and they'll still be a few tweeks by the teams. But yes, I hope the rest of the year is not like this 1st race

Varg Anyone think that was a bit of an anti-climax? Makes a change for an F1 race Seriously, I put the races on, like watching the build up but after the first turn it just gets dull. They need to drop as many driver aids as they can and let it get back to proper racing. Can't see it ever happening though

They need to drop as many driver aids as they can and let it get back to proper racing. Can't see it ever happening though Most of the driver aid have gone! The problem with no re-fuelling is, all the cars are the same weight, all the time. Before you had heavy cars with full fuel, racing against light cars with not much fuel so you could get overtaking, plus leapfrogging in the pits as well, which also won't happen now because all stops are so short.

Incredibly boring, I think the fuel rules have been a huge mistake. Also, has anyone noticed that although they've reduced the size of the rear wings in order to make the car less aerodynamically dependent, the front wings are now bigger than ever? Do they not think this is also contributing to the overtaking problem?

So only a year to interesting racing! Vettel is also rather a contender.

i think dropping the refuelling was a huge mistake. The drivers go for much longer on off tyres, so there is little chance of overtaking. but, i suppose its early in the season so too soon to tell. Doesnt bode well though

Shame about the exhaust problem for him, that's racing I guess.

Gutted for Vettel, supporting Red Bull as they're from my hometown As unlikely as it is I'd love for Schumi to do it though! My dad said at the beginning of the race 'he won't, but if schumi wins it, i'll probably be in tears'

it was as boring as watching the monaco grand prix... sod all overtaking and the pit stops were done in a flash so no classic pit change strategies anymore. i think the rules are changed every year as they want to create discussion and debate about it all which all adds to atmosphere around the sport. truth be known, if they kept it the same every year it would probably return to the schumacher days of one leader and the rest chasing for scraps.

M12 Shakes Does anyone else think politics has overshadowed the sport in recent seasons? Haven't been into F1 for long then mate? Politics has overshadowed the racing since before the sports inception.

Banning refueling would work if teams didn't have to use two different tyre compounds. Back in the late eighties when there was no refuelling and no mandatory tyre stops you would see some drivers tear off using their tyres up then get over taken by drivers like Alain Prost who were really good at looking after their tyre wear and thus do the over taking at the end of the race because the other guy had worn his out or you would get someone try to do the race on one set or someone else choosing to make one stop. It was much more interesting. Forcing teams to complete at least one pit stop negates what racing we should have enjoyed if there were one compound and no forced stops.

I'd really like to see Vettel win it this year. Think he showed a lot of promise last year, and i'm a big fan of the Red Bull team. Still would be interesting to see Schumacher win one this year, just for old times sake. As a couple of people have mentioned though it's doing my nut in that they're not broadcasting it in High Definition yet!

Great vid, thanks a lot! I bet they're unbelievable to drive, I remember seeing Hammond on Top Gear give it ago - was a great feature. Bit disappointed by him jumping the red light a few times though, I'll be writing to the local authority.

Bit disappointed by him jumping the red light a few times though, I'll be writing to the local authority. i've driven a formula audi aroun the bedford autodrome, was an amazing experience, fast as fck. and that was only 400 bhp, so f1 car has more than double the power, must be just absolutely incredible to drive.

Only really seen highlights but looked a much better race. Good on JB, gutted about LHs 2nd stop, surely he'd have had some say there tho. Poor old Vettel. Big whoops for Webber, nice to Massa in there too.
