Hi FF,

Glad you could stop by

I love nuts, I can eat them until the cows come home . Unfortunately I live on at a gas refinery and I’m forced to eat what they give me, which doesn’t include any nuts

Falafel doesn’t often feacher on the menu either, although fool is served everyday at breakfast (probably would give the falafel a miss as it’s normally deep fried).

Hummus rarely makes an appearance which is a mixed blessing. I love the stuff, but as I’m trying to cut its to rich in fat and carb for my liking.

Was great to get your feedback, sounds like you know the area, have you lived in Egypt?

No problem mate...

It's almost like the story I read about guys in Prison doing weird things for their protein, chocolate milk powder mixed with peanut butter type thing, you might need to go down that road

When you are served your food can you ask for extra food items that are high in protein?

I could never cut if Hommus was put in front of me. I don't know the region too well, I grew up in Australia and there is a lot of Middle Eastern/Italian/Greek food available there, developed a real liking for it.

I can generally get as much of the food served that day as I need. The problem is not insufficient quantity, it’s lack of quality.

The hardest thing is to say no when the servers come round with huge plates of chips, meatballs, shish kebabs, etc, etc

Food brought around to your table?

That would be the end of me, especially at work, if I'm stressed I tend to eat comfort food...

Yep, the food is brought round on trays. Most of the time it’s standard Egyptian bulk cooking, heavy on the carbs (chips, white bread, white rice or pasta) with beef served as the protein source twice daily. Chicken is off the menu due to bird flew and it’s a Muslim country so there’s no hope of any pork products

Never heard of it?

My problem is I can’t upload or download to any internet sights. I can mail attachments, providing they pass the company’s security fire wall, unfortunately my progress shots don’t

Cheers mate, that’s a really kind offer, but I don’t think they will pass the company fire wall, maybe too much flesh?

I’ll give it another go now…..

OK you didn't hear it from me, however the easiest way to get past your firewall is download the latest version of Winzip and select 512bit encryption when zipping your files. Most corporate firewalls only have 128 or 256 bit security and the attachment will sail through.

I'm also happy to host them for you if you like mate...

Back and Trap's

Dead’s:
80kg + Bar x 8
90Kg + Bar x 8
100Kg + Bar x 8
110Kg + Bar x 5 (Grip slipped)

Bent over rows (body at 45 degrees)
45Kg + Bar x 10
55Kg + Bar x 10
65Kg + Bar x 8
77Kg + Bar x 6 (form started to slip)

Pull downs wide grip changed to pull-ups wide grip to nose (add weight next week)
8
8
8

Single arm row: Start at 47.5kg next week and see how it goes for three sets.
42.5Kg + Dumbbell Bar x 8
45Kg + Dumbbell Bar x 8
47.5Kg + Dumbbell Bar x 8

Pull-overs: ( Not sure if my techniques is quite right?)
27Kg + Dumbbell bar x 8
30Kg + Dumbbell bar x 8
35Kg + Dumbbell bar x 8

Trap’s
60Kg + bar x 8 In front
70Kg + bar x 8 In front
80Kg + bar x 8 In front
50Kg + bar x 8 Behind

Notes:
Weights have all gone up, but this was to be expected as last week I was just feeling my way with the new routine.

Dead’s: Movement felt good. I think I can go quite a bit heavier, providing my grip holds.

I’m not sure about my Pull-over technique; I completed the exercise as follows: Upper back on bench, body parallel with floor and legs bent at the Knee. Arms remain straight throughout the exercise and start just past parallel with the floor. The weight is then brought to perpendicular with floor in an arc like motion.

Unfortunately I can’t use dumbbells for shrugs as they are too big and the movement is cumbersome. I tried to do pull ups (bar pulled up from waist to chin), but my right arm has a strain and the movement was uncomfortable .

Built up a sweat, but didn't feel like I had killed myself. I'm not experiencing any dom's this morning, so I’m not really sure how effective the session was?

Today’s training comprised of an 8km walk. I had intended to run at lunch and after work, but work got in the way

As for the gym tonight, I must confess I was just lazy

I found out this morning I will leave site tomorrow bound for Cairo. If all goes according to plan…….. I will be in London for a few days, Trinidad for a week and then off to Houston for the next 6months.

Training and diet will probably take a battering over the next few weeks, at least until I can settle into a routine in Houston

Once in Houston though I will have access to weights, weights and more weights!!!!! and
