Are you training raw or with your suit at the moment?

suit is giving me nothing at the moment, just for a bit of midsection stability, but as i am growing it will come into play soon, (too tight to buy a smaller suit)

will be up for coming to that meet...

weighed in tonight at 14 12lb, lost a bit of bf% as well so quite happy, still playing with the diet...

monday
squats triples up to 205kg (first time on these)
doubles on 215kg (felt easy)
legs are growing now and the suit is starting to tighten, so the weight increase should keep going up
170kg for 2 sets of 8 reps.....

seriously thinking about front squating, as well on this day, but may add in when gains slow

wednesday
bench with shirt
60kg 6 80kg 6 100kg 4 120kg 2 130kg single

bench no shirt

100kg 5 stripped 10kg each side another 5 reps, stripped another 10kg each side and then 10 reps

shoulder press, tricep extensions and flies to finish

Are all your suits/shirts IPF legal mate?

Or do you use any double-ply for training in?

only single ply mate, all allowed in the bwla

last weeks monday squat session, mate has pulled his back, so was done alone,

all reps were four working up to 180kg, five reps on 200kg, felt good but just of depth...
dropped down to 140kg and did 15 reps
stripped a plate each side and did 12 reps stripped another plate and did 10, great drop set, was shattered and called it a day

wednesday
alone again, worked up to 50kg a side for 6 reps and then a drop set with taking a plate each time
militry press standing, worked up to 70kg for 6 reps, was easy enough
front raises 4 sets 10 reps
tri pushdowns, just kept going until the tri`s were knackered ..... both good workouts

yesterday (monday)
worked up to the 180kg for five reps, 200kg for four reps, was very tired, need to drop squats now, thinking of doing some good mornings or box squatting, will decide later on in the week....

weighing in just shy of fifteen stone, so hit the target for now, want to remain at this weight for a while, but still increase strength...

That's cool mate cheers.

I'm still awaiting my BWLA card to be sent to me. I haven't decided if i'm going to this meet equipped or raw as I've never competed at a BWLA meet.

just an update...

squatting a 1 rep max of 240kg

220kg 4 sets 4 reps, found easy now so will be moving up to 230kg for four sets of doubles and adding a rep in each week until four reps are easy

did a 260kg walkout with a 6" squat to get used to the weight

120kg good mornings 4 sets 8 reps ( really starting to enjoy these, weight will shoot up each week)

benching now 140kg for triples, this is steady but not easy, but progressing still is the main thing

stated deads for the first time for over a year and pulled 210kg for single, 220kg should have been there but was not focussed

weight now 15st 6lb

up to 15st 9lb now, reached my linit now for the 100kg class

squated in trebles up to 220kg last night then singled 230, 240kg,250kg

so now set the bench mark to 250kg, was an easy squat for a max lift, so looking at 260kg by mid april, ideally 280-290kg by the end of the year...feeling great about training at the moment, so any increase in weight will have to have a decrease in bodyfat too, looking into getting some comps under my belt this year before i hit the masters for next april...

bring on bench for wednesday

well 260kg came earlier than expected tonight, was easy, depth was about an inch shy, but was easily achievable

triples up to an including 220kg all easy. 240,250 260 (new pb) for singles

set my target higher now, gunning for a 290-300kg by the end of the year....

got a an old addition to our team now, ozzy who used to train with us and also moderate on here, so can bounce a lot of ideas around

You back deadlifting yet and why do you only update this journal once a month and why aren't there any videos?

Thats all the questions out the way, nice squatting.

do you reckon walk outs can aid someone no matter how small or large of a weight they are squatting?

yes back deadlifting now, slow process, but 220kg straight out the box so plenty more to come, vids will come, got nothing to prove to anyone so not that bothered, but will do some so to keep your questions at bay and it puts a nice bend in the bar at heavy weights...lol

yes i do mate, by doing walkouts you become acustomed to the new weight, psycology kicks in, as the weight for working sets is lighter, if it is lighter you feel more comfortable, when we started this year i was doing walkouts with the 260kg and it was hard, now squatting that weight and have no trouble, with heavy weights half the battle is mind games, unless you know you can do the weight you are on the back foot,.
