From what they were saying, you could do like a clean bulk, by cycling the carbs it would promote lean muscle gain and reduce the amount of fat gained on the bulker. but yea, mostly its used for a cutting cycle. the informations a bit patchy, but it seems like it promotes clean gains.

Here is the article i found.

Well had another sucessful days chomping
wake - whey in water
Brekkie - oats, soya yoghurt, soya milk, berries and pb ( how i love my pb )
snack - bowl of home made musli with whey (oats, sultanas nuts and seeds)
lunch - Tin of salmon, pinto beans, broccoli and rice cakes
snack - some home made chili con carne with oat cakes
tea - sweet potato, tuna steak, broccoli and more chili con carne
snack - tuna steak with pb and oatcakes

Had to go shopping and forkout for more grub, got bloody soaked!

Just trying to get my routine sorted out ( check out bb routine forum for my q ) Must say i like the look of the bill starr one i put up.

I'm getting in to this bulking buisness now! shame its all going to be disrupted! Bloody 4 day cycle trip!
then going to rowing world champs in windsor! but should be able to find a good gym there to use! (anyone know of any?) then to mauritius and dubai( this i am not complaining aboot) the hotels say they have gyms but i dunno if they will have weights or not. Sure as hell hope so, may aswell make the best of the good grub i will be getting

I think i will consider the cycle trib a "deload" or break as i have not had a break from [sm=barbell.gif since i began workoing out a few months ago.

Ahhh! My progress will be cronic this first month, one i start at uni i will hopefully be able to go without interuptions!

Any hoo enough babbling on!

Chow for now

Basically im gonna go for a good ol' bill starr routine, (as suggested by several folks) as a few ppl on here have had great gains with it, so its tried and tested. I will go for the waterbury routines later on when i am more experienced.

Routine:
Mon
Squat 5 x 5
bench press 5 x 5

Bench press 4 x 5
Deadlift 4 x 5
Dips 3 x 6

http://www.deepsquatter.com/strength/archives/manrodt4.htm

Good lift selection. power cleans are ace for all over development. are your numbers all without the bar weight included?

Hi guys....yes i am back early After the first day which was abot 50 miles my knee was pretty sore, i have had this before (usally after grueling repetative stuff) so had to abandon ship, dont want to jeapordise my ability to squat I did really enjoy the first day we cycled from carbisdale castle down to strathpeffer, not sure if thesenames wll mean anything to anyone. Some nice tough hills, which i actually enjoyed
The group of friends i was with were quite a bit slower (despite the fact they did not have panniers and i did) so i got plenty of rest at the top of every hill waiting for them, just enough time to much away some protein bars!

Word of advice : Never ever wolf down 4 large protein bars then immediatly start cycling, it messed with my digestion big time! i felt like i was pregnant, bloody agaony.

Thanks for the encouragment dead_weight, keeps me motivated!

Wogihao, it was only for power cleans i have not included the weight of the bar! My squat weights do include the oly bar!

Well i am rather bored tonight so i thought i would post up what has been my nutritionally worst day for months I did not really have too much choice as i was in a b & b for the am. In the car during lunch on a long journey, having had to leave my bag full of protein bars behind then tea had to be wolfed down beofre getting on the train home.

Brekkie - porridge & jam, white toast with an egg and tomatoes
Snack - trek bar
Lunch - tescos finst tuna sarney
snack - rice cakes with homous and ham
tea - baked beans, rice cakes and marmite What was i thinking?
Snack - oatcakes, pb and borccoli

On reflection it could have been worst, just felt like alot of crap, mainly breakfast.

Will update with tomorrows workout!

How you finding the weighted hyper extentions? Are you seeing a crossover to your Deads and Squats? I prefer Good Mornings myself but everyones diffrent.

yo wogihao! tbh i would much rather be doing good mornings, but did not want to fiddle the routine too much as i thought there must be a reason for it! Mabey in a week or so i will exchange the hypers. I recon they are helping with the deads!
I also like the look of glute ham raises (think thats what they are called) for the hams's!

Tom

Well today i went to the local outdoor pool with me shovel and stole sand shoved it in heavy duty "rubble sacks" duct taped up and put in my new cheap as chips "duffel" to create......... the ultimate gpp..... "thing" or "sack"

Yup i was pretty bored as i am not in the city at the moment! i was also gonna make some stuff for doing grip work, but that can wait till 2moro.

I just need to get some more exersizes to do with my "thing" lol that sounds dodgey! all i did today was power clean it, press it then hurl it, then chase and repeat great fun!

60kg
70kg
70kg

Incline bench press 4 x 5
