Holding dbs for lunges is out of the question in my book as I lunge with 70kg and there's no way could I hold a 35kg db per hand for a total of 20 reps . I also find it easier to balance and keep the back straight with a barbell.

has your PT showed you how to hold the barbell properly without the padding and resting it on the top of your neck?

Thats why i like dumbell lunges cause you get that lovely hanging weight off your entire upper back into your shoulders.I use wraps too hang on and thus target that foremetioned area without grip failing.

Bah, what a rubbish workout I had today

Got to the gym, all treadmills were busy so did a 1K row.

Then a treadmill came free so I hopped on, had to stop after about 1k as my calves seized up :/

Don't think I drank enough water today and I'm blobbing so feeling like poo

Welshy i have so much going on at the moment with my house move that i wouldnt like to promise i'd make your bbq.Well done for setting it up though, i'm sure you'll have a gas.
It aint all gonna be fantastic sessions all the time. You gotta allow for the poo times when you bring the whole lifestyle into question, i've been there a few times but come through fighting and even stronger.
I think the expression is its a marathon not a sprint huh

Welshy - that is praise indeed from you!

No one forced me to do this, I just turn up and do the gym and eat the food I am told to eat. I do the easy part, it's the guys who assist me that have the dangerous job of keeping me in check! I wouldn't be in their shoes for anything! Trouble is, they will have to do it all again next year as I am so loving this ride and don't want to stop now!
