Well, after a long time on-off gym going, I'm finally able to get down and lift some weights a bit more often!

Also, I need to update my journal cos I can never remember what weights I do from one week to the next

I went on Tuesday and did chest and biceps, and will be going in a bit (hopefully) to do backs and triceps.

Unfortunately I'm also gonna have to take off next week due to a family holiday, but depending on how my bro's work goes I should be back to a fairly consistent routine after that!

Tuesday
Flat Bench --- 3x8 @ 75kg
Incline D/B Bench --- 8, 8, 10 @ 22kg
Pec Deck --- 12, 12, 10 @ 42kg

EZ bar Curls --- 2x8 @ 25kg
Preacher Curls --- 18, 14 @ 15kg

Pec Deck Flyes --- 12, 10, 8 @ 42kg

Preacher Curls --- 10 @ 15kg, 10 @ 10kg

Not too bad a session for the main exercises anyway!

I went to a boxing class at Urban Martial Arts (Leicester) with my bro last night.

I've been to one before somewhere else and that was absolutely crap! But this one was fantastic, a really nice place and the instructor was really friendly and helpful.

Definitely thinking about carrying it on! Would be good for cardio and it's something I'm interested in learning a bit of! Even better, the place teaches other MAs that I'd be able to try out for the basic membership!

It was definitely a bit painful doing pressups in the warmups due to DOMS from the last chest session, especially cos I'd changed the exercises! OW!
Plus, I felt a bit sick cos I was so knackered, but I suppose that'll get better as my fitness improves and I get more used to it!

Not gone to boxing this week for one reason or another Never mind, I'll just have to be unfit and fat!

Again, not updated at all so I'm gonna have to try and remember all the weights:

On the saturday when I went to the Essex meet the training was pretty much do what I wanted. No structure, but I got a PB on the bench: 100kg for 1. Not great, but now I know I can finally bench the 100kg milestone I've been aiming for. 100kg for reps is the next

Tuesday (Back and Tris)

Deadlifts --- 3x8 @ 112kg
Lat Pulldowns --- 12,12,11 @ 49kg

CG Bench --- 3x8 @ 70kg

Pretty crap session tbh, went down on lat pulls, felt a bit sick and knackered and couldn't be arsed to do a couple of exercises, but the worst is my training partner had a back injury, which kinda put a downer on the session generally.

Friday (Legs and Bis)

Leg Press --- 3x8 @ 200kg
Leg Extension --- 3x9 @ 45kg
Leg Curls --- 3x10 @ 45kg

D/B Curls --- 3x8 @ 12kg
Machine Curls --- 2x8 @ 25kg, 1x8 @ 20kg

Didn't do squats cos of my bros injury, but I actually enjoyed this session as my quads really burned, and still are today Kept nearly falling over tho as they gave way!

Saturday (Chest and Shoulders)

D/B Bench --- 3x8 @ 30kg (32kg next week)
Incline B/B --- 2x8 @ 55kg, 1x10 @ 55kg (60kg next week)
Pec Deck --- 3x10 @ 49kg (56kg next week)

Seated D/B Press --- 10,10,8 @ 15kg
Lateral cable raises --- 10,10,9 @ 2.5kg

Chest felt good, but shoulders burned! Maybe Saturdays are a bit close to Fridays session, but atm I can't really fit it in anywhere else. I'll just stick at it for now!

Just finished watching the England - USA game, what an appalling performance! On the other hand, it has put me into considering learning rugby as I vaguely recall enjoying it back at school! I can't just yet, but when I can it's something to think about......

Monday I did another session of boxing, again I felt absolutely knackered and a bit sick, which can only be a good thing!
Strangely, I've also got DOMS in my left lat again...

Tuesday
Couldn't do deadlifts, and as the squat rack is a bit high for rack pulls did a kinda partial deadlift, that is, lowering the barbell to just below my knees before lifting it back up again - without resting it or lifting it from dead...

Partial Deadlifts --- 3x10 @ 100kg
DB Rows --- 3x8 (Rough!!) @ 32kg
Lat Pulldowns --- 8,8,10 @ 56kg (soon I'll be back up to 63kg, w00t! )

CG Bench --- 3x8 @ 72kg - veeery difficult actually!
DB Extension --- 3x12 @ 22kg, really burned!

Did me boxing training on thursday again - I'm still not really used to it! I get so knackered and sweat more than Michael Jackson in a playground but I'm still really enjoying it!

Friday I did legs and biceps:
Squats --- 3x8 @ 90kg, really happy with these as I've had about a month off and come back stronger
Leg Extension --- 3x8 @ 50kg
Leg Curls --- 3x8 @ 50kg

D/B Curls --- 8,9,10 @ 15kg
EZ Bar Curls --- 7,6,5 @ 28kg, failed at these but I'm not too fussed as I put more effort into D/Bs and did better.

Saturday I did chest and shoulders:
D/B Bench --- 3x8 @ 32kg, pleased with these, will be going up to 35kg next week.
Incline Bench --- 8,7,6 @ 60kg, not happy with these, but it's about time I stalled a bit on these I suppose!
Pec Deck --- 3x8 @ 56kg

Seated D/B Press --- 8,8,7 @ 17kg
Cable Lateral Raises --- 2x14 @ 2.5kg, 1x12 @ 3.75, will go for 3x12 @ 3.75 next week

Late reply, sorry!

Nah, I'm too much of a wimp to be a boxer - I'm a lover, not a fighter

It's mainly fitness, but if it helps to shed a few pounds I'm not complaining

Tuesday
Back to deadlifts!! 3x8 @ 110kg
DB Rows --- 3x9 @ 32kg
Lat Pulldowns --- 3x8 @ 63kg, bit of a swing so I'll go for 3x10
Machine Rows --- 1x14 @ 28, 2x10 @ 35 (3x10 @ 35....?)

Only back today, as I'm gonna switch to a 4 day split with 1 day of boxing training next week
