Hello to anyone who reads this journal,i have a training diary at home that i list workouts and poundages used but thought that keeping an online journal might help with motivation, which is something ive been struggling with for the last few months, training regular but not really enjoying it like i used to.

Feel free to comment on anthing wether good or bad,i prefer for people to be honest.

Bit of info, started messing about with my older brothers bullworker when i was 11 and got a junior weightlifting set out of my mams catalogue just after,i was a typical little fat kid at school until i hit puberty and went the other way and turned really skinny, messed about with weights at home up until 18 then i joined a proper BB gym, stopped training for a good few years and turned into a right p1ss head, almost alcoholic.
New years day about 5 years ago my missus took a pic of me in just my boxers and it was a wake up call, look a complete wreck in it,cut right back on the drink and started training and eating healthy again, started BB seriously 4 years ago.

Train at home now in a decent home setup as its not practical to use the local gyms with the shifts i work now.

The last couple of months ive tried bulking big style including a fair bit junk and last night i was the heaviest ive ever been 16 stone 2 and its taking its toll,i feel crap TBH,ankles are swollen, breathing heavy just feel uncomfortable so i'm going to slowly cut from now until the summer holidays in august, not going to do anything major at first simply cutting most of the junk out, that combined with my job will cause a drop in the flab.

I have a basic diet plan i got from James a while ago and it works very well and i will be using this closer to the summer though i carn't stick to it long term as i do have a big appetite and do enjoy having some junk in my diet.

Current fat b@stard stats are.
Height 5'8
Weight first thing 16s
chest 47 1/4" normal 49 1/2 extended
arms 17" refuse to grow
neck 17 3/4"
Quads upper thigh just under 27"
calfs 17 1/4"
waist 34"(forum measurement ) real life measurement 38 1/4" always had a problem with storing fat on the lower back

Training has always been basic compounds straight sets aiming at poundage progression workout to workout, time for a change and for the next few months i'm going to forget about weight used and go more for wiping a bodypart out with as much intensity as i can,so pre exhaustion going to failure forced reps ect.

I don't train on set days,i go by how i feel so if ive had a bad day at work and feel knackered or had a bad nights sleeps will put a workout back a day.

Training back today,workout was.

straight arm pushdown supersetted with chins 3 sets of 12 pushdowns, chins went 6,4,2
T-bar row 1x12,10,9
low cable row 3x12
rack pulls from just below knees 3x6

Scran today has been,

breakie oj with a dash of olive oil 8 egg broccoli omelette with cheese 2 slices of granery bread coffee
mid morning 2 tins mackrel granery bread humous
postworkout shake,flapjack
lunch chicken,noodles,veg stirfry
mid afternoon shake oatcakes banana
tea chicken dinner,twix coffee
Mid evening nuts seeds milk
before bed don't no yet

hi trebor,
Hope all goes well in 2007. i have found that having my training diary online as well as in a book at home really helps with motivation. when you find your diary slipping back to page 8 you know you've not been doing something right

I see you you are changing the way you train. Maybe this is a good idea because everyone can get stale even on a great program. What about changing even more for a session or 2 every now and again to keep it fresh and interesting (say bodyweight, edt, whatever). Just a thought.

Anyway, as i said before, good luck and I'm sure you'll have a great 2007.

Thanks for the encouragement lads, wasn't planning on posting any pics because i look like sh1te but i suppose it might be good way of showing progress,i'll try and get some taken over the weekend.

Cheshire Cat,yes its me in the avatar, the tats are getting a bit old now starting to loose there crispness.

nico, have been thinking of doing something different for arms every session to see if i can kick start some growth.

ironandconstrictors,i'll be honest i don't think i could push myself hard enough now to do a 20 reps squat routine justice.

Taekwondo Guy,chests measurement will sharp drop once i start cutting serious

First day back at work today and had a nightmare, our little lad kept us awake most of the night crying with a bad cold so i was already knackered when i got up at 5am,going downstairs could feel an ache in the soul of my foot also going up the front of the shin, this has got worse as the days gone on and its now painful to walk, havn't a clue what ive done, supposed to train legs tomorrow but might have to swap if its still hurting.

Had to cover someone elses job today and tomorrow and ive spent the day running my t1ts off, soaking in sweat, morning break went to get my shaker which also had my oat cakes in and no sign of it (found it on the floor of the car)so only had a flapjack and banana, pretty chewed by the end of the shift, going to try for an early night.

Food today

breakie- oj/olive oil,cheese/tomatoe omelette,2 slices granery bread,coffee
mid morning- flapjack banana,starving
lunch- chicken rice, thai sauce, apple diet coke
early tea- chicken in memphis sauce, baked potato, corn on the cob x2 coffee
mid evening-2 tins mackrel 2x granery bread
supper-tin of tuna or milk and nuts

No chocolate

Foots much better today just an ache in the sole, lats arn't that big mate i just no how to make them pop out .

Well another sweaty day at work and i managed to avoid the temptation of the sweetie machine.

Trained legs today, have been doing mainly front squats over the last 6 months with some back squatting now and then.

Thought i would try something different fun,so leg extensions supersetted with back squats.

100kg on the leg extension 10 reps a set slow with a squeeze at the top 1 min rest ,followed by a set of squat only had 110kg on the bar and i planned on pyrimiding the weight up but after the first set ended up leaving the weight the same for all the sets, reps dropped quick 10,9,6,5.

Followed that with 4 sets of leg curls 4x12.

Tried to do standing calf raises but it was to uncomfortable on the soul of the foot so quit after 4 reps.

Walked down the stairs like i'd pooed myself, legs still feel shakey.

Diet up to now.

Breakie- large bowl of porrige sugar, whey in cranberry juice,2 baby oranges, coffee
mid- morning- whey/skimmed milk powder,packet of oatcakes,banana
lunch-chicken rice kidney beans in chilli sauce, apple, diet coke
pre workout-2x mackrel,2x granery bread 2 strong coffee.
post workout whey in cranberry juice.
evening meal- chicken curry
mid evening mixed nuts, can of larger.

Stats don't look too bad!

Like your little waist measurement joke!

Any gear use at all or all natural?

I see your now training at home, as you said, the basic equipment is all you need to do the trick! I've always trained from home and done ok.
