Shoulders tonight really **** day in work today so took it out on the weights hence all reps or weight is up, and really relaxed me. just the usual story over worked under appreciated, didnt move from my desk today for 8 hours, no lunch or food for most off it which annoys me the most!

Military Press

1x14 20kg, 1x8 47.5kg, 1x8 47.5kg, 1x8 47.5kg, 1x7 47.5kg last fe were push presses but happy with it none the less

Rear Raise

1x10 7.5kg, 1x10 7.5kg, 1x10 7.5kg, 1x10 7.5kg havent decided weither to go up to 12 reps then increase the weight or up the weight and drop to 8 reps again........ ANY input appreciated!

Side Raise

1x10 7.5kg, 1x10 7.5kg, 1x10 7.5kg, 1x10 7.5kg same with these up the reps or drop em and increase the weight?

Shrug

1x10 90kg, 1x10 90kg, 1x10 90kg, 1x10 90kg just about kept hold of the bar on the last few res of these! im sure it would have made a nice hole in the raised floor we have in the gym!

So anyone advice on what to do, cheers

Depends if you're going for strength or visuals mate IMO...

I find lower reps help build more strength... but higher reps ignite new growth IMO

Hope that helps

so do you think i should go with 12 reps? then up the weight?

or do you think 10 reps is a high enough number mate?

Go up to 12 mate IMO...

Run with that for a month and see how you are getting on...

I've just recently changed to higher reps again and am starting to grow again..

I find when you stop growing - changing something will shock your body a little...

Does that make sense mate

thanks mate will give it some thought, makes sense though.

just worried about the drop in actual kgs from my old way of training, but i guess i need to get away from that sort of thinking if i want size over strength which i now do.

Chest workout tonight, keep forgetting im cutting so i should be pleased im keeping the weights and reps the same i suppose, on a good note however all the sets were done with a pause in this time so thats positive i think, not all as slow as i would have liked but you cant have everything!

Bench Press

1x8 20kg, 1x8 20kg, 1x8 60kg, 1x8 60kg, 1x8 60kg, 1x8 60kg i think i may need to bring my grip in a bit as i feel my outer chest is getting worked more than inner.

DB Incline Press

1x10 12.5kg, 1x10 12.5kg, 1x10 12.5kg, 1x10 12.5kg will keep this the same next session as i couldnt sqeeze my pecs at the top as it was too much of a struggle just to get the reps out not a really good muscle connection

Standing Crossover Cables

1x12 20p, 1x12 20p, 1x12 20p, 1x12 30p really nice stretch and feeling in my pecs of this

Dips

1x5, 1x4, 1x1 very disappointed at this but havent done them in ages

Back tonight it was, lifts up on deadlift but still restricted because of my grip i feel.

Real progress though i feel, wont be long before its over the 100k mark again then ill start to feel like im shifting some weight again.

really affects my grip though in my other lifts wheras before the straps would carry me through its a real struggle without them.

Deadlift

1x6 60kg, 1x8 80kg, 1x8 80kg, 1x8 80kg, 1x8 80kg grip almost went but another 10kg i can now hold on to so im really pleased.

Lat Pulldown

1x9 105p, 1x9 105p, 1x9 105p, 1x9 105p just about held on to the last reps of these

Bent Over BB row

1x8 60kg, 1x8 60kg, 1x8 60kg, 1x8 60kg real struggle with the last few of these but i loved them!

DB Curls

1x8 10kg, 1x8 10kg, 1x8 10kg, 1x8 10kg all really strict very, very hard to do massive pump in my arms of these were about 18" at least! (although my BF is too high)

havent tried chalk yet, its hard to explain i dont think the chalk would help at these weights its my forearms that give way first with a real lactic acid burning type of pain.

also the gym i deadlift in would not take kindly to me covering everything in chalk i think!

Although im sure i read somewhere about liquid chalk? Or maybe dreampt it! Not sure lol

legs today, really couldnt face upping the reps on the front squat of the lunges i do.

really find these the most taxing excersises i do, take everything out of me and didnt really feel i had the energy to step it up.

Front Squat

1x5 20kg, 1x5 20kg, 1x8 70kg, 1x8 70kg, 1x8 70kg, 1x8 70kg did find it a bit easyer than last time i did them. was able to keep the bar on my shoulders a bit more comfortablely and focus more on my quads

Lunge(holding 10kg dumbells)

1x8 10kg, 1x8 10kg, 1x8 10kg, 1x8 10kg as always a killer excercise for my cardiovascular system

Leg Curl

1x8 135p, 1x8 135p, 1x8 135p, 1x8 135p upped the weight on these felt hard the last few res on this weight on the last 2 sets so about the right weight for me

Calf Raise using smith

1x20 40kg, 1x20 40kg, 1x15 40kg, 1x10 40kg bloody hard as usual, will be a while before im doing 4 sets of 20.

was shoulders on tuesday i now know the true meaning of irony!

i did some rotator cuff strengthening exercises after my shoulders session and i woke up on wed with my right one in bloody agony! never EVER had a problem with my shoulders before!

can only think ive over stretched it? as i was not using any weight.

so by doing these bloody moves that are supposed to strengthen your shoulders ive now knackered one

military press

1x10 20kg, 1x8 47.5kg, 1x8 47.5kg, 1x8 47.5kg, 1x8 47.5kg only the last rep on the last set was a push press so really pleased

rear raise

1x11 7.5kg, 1x11 7.5kg, 1x11 7.5kg, 1x11 7.5kg

lateral raise

1x11 7.5kg, 1x11 7.5kg(last rep cheated), 1x11(last 3 cheats), 1x11(last 5 cheats)

DB shrug

1x20 30kg, 1x20 30kg, 1x20 30kg, 1x20 30kg

then the rotator cuff stuff! never again

wednesday i did for the first time some HIIT using a bike and rower. it was pitiful really my attempt at this.

bike: 1,3,5,7 mins were all flat out with slow mins in between

then rower: 1,3 were all i could do my legs were just fried and my chest was about to explode.

i really like the principle of these though, in an out of the gym quickly.

obviously i need to build this up to 30mins in total to see the real benefit but you gotta start somewhere!

well got back from the jewleres and had a nice surprise, had over 40grams of old gold that they are able to use.

the valuation for the bangle on completion because its over 1oz will be over 1000pounds!

considering the scrap value of the gold is about 100 and its only costing about that to make im well chuffed!

i think ill leave the valuation in there when i give it to her! extra brownie points! gonna be about 1 month before its ready though due to how busy they are, but it will be worth the wait!
