Wed 2 Apr

Should have been pull day, but still having shoulder problems so decided to miss it this week. Did legs instead, a bit heavier this week.

Workout

Leg ext - stack x 8, 8, 8, 8
Leg curl - no 10 x 5, 5, 5, 5, 5

Both were less than max, easing back into things.

Did 50 mins on the bike afterwards, finally managed to get it set up again at the new place (with a TV lol).

Sat 5 April

Weight first thing 17st 2.25 (before cardio).

Did 60 min bike on empty stomach first thing.

Push day.

Workout:

Barbell flat bench 110 x 3
Dumbbell shoulder press (seated) 40 x 8, 6
Barbell skulls 65 x 1

Chest - shoulder was too sore benching, had to stop.
Shoulders - interestingly enough, shoulder doesn't hurt doing shoulders. Two good sets.
Tris - shoulder probs again.

Time to see the doctor/physio.

65 min cardio first thing.

Should be pull day but resting shoulder a bit more. Have introduced shoulder stretching and it seems to be improving things a bit.

Weight first thing was 17st 1.5, about a pound down from last week - need to tighten up on diet a bit more.

70 min bike on empty after weigh-in.

Tried a push session in the afternoon (did dumbbell bench rather than barbell) but shoulder was very sore, so stopped.

Thu 17 Apr

65 min bike on empty first thing.

Doctor says shoulder is just a sprained tendon, gave me diclofenac sodium and told me to take it easy for a bit.

Hi Mark. I haven't been around for a while and haven't had to time to read back through your journal due to lack of time. Have you been training continuously since I was last on? Have you recently put on weight, that you want to get rid of then? Update would be nice please. Good to see you are still on MT.

Best Wishes Tina

Hi, good to see you back. I've been fairly consistent with training, except for a few (possibly lengthy) outages with injury (can't remember when you were last on lol). I tend to put on weight when I'm not training - guess I've put on both fat and muscle since you were last around. I've lost about a stone in weight over quite a few months, probably added a little muscle too. Looking to lose some more fat, just need to tighten up on my diet lol.

Tue 22 Apr

65 min bike first thing on empty.

Shoulder is feeling a bit better, so decided to try a light pull session this evening and see how it responded. Worked slowly up to 60kg single arm rows and it felt fine. Pulled a little on light dumbbell curls so left it there. Seems OK at the moment, will see what it's like tomorrow.

Sat 26 Apr

Weight first thing 16st 12.5 - seem to have lost 4lbs since last week. I've stuck to the diet all week, but had a few beers last night for the first time in ages so wondering if it's water related. That said it feels like I've lost a bit.

Moved cardio to tomorrow morning.

Tried a push session this evening to test shoulder out.

Dumbbell bench - worked up to 35Kg dumbbells, which is when shoulder started complaining, so left it there.
Dumbbell seated shoulder press - worked up to 30Kg dumbbells and it seemed fine.

Did some leg curls and extensions afterwards, but felt weak as a kitten.

Knee and other shoulder were clicking a lot, been on diclofenac sodium for a week and think that may be why.
