denono -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Feb. 27 2007 15:42:49)

we only got a look in from the door but it seemed ok. Ye my gym is the same tbh as it goes from 50lb dumbells then to 67lb. Not good. Anyway all the best with the training and the journal and thanks

kitty -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Feb. 27 2007 21:12:21)

Much better day today.

Up even later (7.45[8|])

However, having decided not to train legs today I did my CV earlier so managed to eat at better times too.

wake, scoop whey and glutamine

8.15-9.15 CV

9.20 25g each oats, whey and raisins

11.30 2 rice cakes and tub cottage cheese

13.30 minced turkey and mixed veg (sweetcorn, mushrooms, onions, green beans, mangetout, sugarsnap peas, peppers, courgette)

15.30 whey and Udos

17.45-18.45 CV

19.15 : minced turkey and mixed veg again (tut tut, had 2 tortillas as noticed use by date was looming...exbloodycuse)

Cut up loads of the veg I had today to make sure when I get home from Uni for the next 3 days that I can eat better rather than grabbing baked spuds. This is what I mainly used to diet on last time, spice it up with fajitas flavouring and it's bloody gorgeous[:D]

I nibbled on the prawns last night for supper so have pulled some more out for tonight too.

Going to be a little difficult over next few days for eating. I'll be getting up at 5am to drive to Uni to miss the traffic on the M6/M56, fortunately the gym opens at 7am so I make sure I'm there in time to train before the days lectures. I usually end up so knackered by the end of the day that I will possibly not do another bout of CV. Previously I've taken containers with whey powder to take and an apple for carbs, not ideal but something that is possible to eat whilst in lectures[:D], I do get funny looks pouring water into the whey and then shaking it!!

kitty -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Feb. 28 2007 6:21:41)

Well what a poo night's sleep I had there. Didn't help that every time I was nodding off the cat would come and sleep on my head[>:]. Gave us the ghost at 3am and finally decided to get out of bed at 4.30. Have been walking round like a zombie since and my control of the keyboard is akin to being drunk. I just hope I stay awake today[&o]

pauloduarte -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Feb. 28 2007 9:24:38)

Good luck with your day today Kitty!! I know the feeling of cats sleeping on your head. I used to have one on my head and one on my chest. And if I dare to move a claw out of the paw would come and slap me in my face!!! [:D]

Anyway you are doing very well and are committed to the cause!!! Keep going!!! [:)]

nodumbelle -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Feb. 28 2007 9:34:35)

Ever tried No-xplode? It's pretty good at keeping you awake and gives you a really good punch for your workouts!
Good luck with the training - and lots of thanks for your encouragement!

flick161 -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Feb. 28 2007 9:53:42)

I hope your day goes well Kitty, good eating yesterday, not sure I would have been able to resist the tortilla's either...

P.S Thanks, your log seemed to give me the kick I needed...

lradford -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Feb. 28 2007 14:36:59)

Looking good over the last few days Kitty, and loving the amount of cardio you're getting in. I do agree that reading this gives me a kick up the arse to wanna do more.

I like the idea of logging the diet. As you say if you can be honest it works a treat.

We have the hammer strength leg press which works each leg individually. I decided to do 4 sets on this with my feet positioned higher on the plate than I normally do, in fact any higher and I'd have come off the platform. What a fabulous feeling, I still felt the push in my quads but also felt a much better hit on the hams and glutes.

Out of interest do you use a wide stance for this when going higher on the plate? Or do you have a preference?

kitty -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Feb. 28 2007 20:13:04)

Lisa, I've been using as narrow a stance as I can get away with as I want to work the outer sweep better. I'm happy with the definition of my quads which I can still vaguely see even with the additional weight, so I'd just like a little more shape so I can get the X factor[:D]. This lady (Nancy Andrews is my inspiration)

Thanks for the encouragement all

Well as I suspected, today was hard. Especially when it was a boring topic but an essential module (research methods and data analysis[8|])

Was in the gym for 7am. Did legs as planned but it was hard work. Squats and lunges on the smith and then the full stack on the glute machine.

My legs were wobbling again so I knew I'd worked then hard. I sat on the recumbant bike (pedalling) for 15 mins and then did 20 mins on the stepper. It was then time to get showered, changed and throw my brekkie down before lectures.

Brekkie 8.55am 25g each, oats, whey and raisins

10.55: scoop whey and apple

13.00 baked spud, cottage cheese and tuna with salad

15.30 scoop whey and apple

18.45: minced turkey and mixed veg (2 more tortillas[:(][:D])

Plan on a very early night.

Paul, it wasn't just the cat on my head he actually did attack me at one point and I've been sat there today with two scratches on my forehead[8|]

Planning on back and biceps tomorrow.

lradford -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Feb. 28 2007 22:47:59)

Thank you for the info Dawn, will be putting that to use and going the other way with a wide stance I think.

Another fantastic day. So commendable the work that you put in, even on the days when you don't feel like it or the schedule isn't ideal. Wicked attitude, and a lot of us could learn from it!

Hope you're already tucked up ready for another one tomorrow.

I hated that when I had to do it! Ouch, but as you say it was compulsory for us too!

Looks like training is going well Kitty![8D] keep up the good work!

kitty -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Mar. 1 2007 6:19:52)

Great isn't it Solosailor? Was a little like teaching grannie to suck eggs alot of the time yesterday however, it did get me thinking more about what to do for my dissertation[:)]

Better nights sleep, lights out at 10.45pm, me out by 10.50pm[:D]

However, the cat didn't wake me by sitting on my head, instead I woke to a lot of knocking type sounds only to realise that he must have brought a playmate home.[>:] Up I got and there was my hallway covered in feathers and a poor little sparrow with one tail feather left hiding in the corner behind the dog basket. I've picked it up and put it in a little box with some food (it's still alive and I'll be letting it go when it's a little lighter outside). I went back to bed to see that it was 3.45am[8|] and could I get back to sleep????? NO!! So I got up at 4.45am. I suppose it gives me a little time to look at MT before I have to leave[:)]

pauloduarte -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Mar. 1 2007 9:27:32)

More cat episodes eh?

How old is he/she? When my male was young he used to bring all sorts home, from mice to rats going through sparrows, pigeons, but one day he top it all by bringing in one Crow! The flaming bird were as big as him and still today I dont know how he managed to get him. After he showed us the bird he proceeded to go to the garden, dig a hole and tried to bury the crow. At this moment I noticed in the sky another three crows circling around ready to pounce on my cat. He managed to cover the crow and run back inside... Never saw crows again around whilst I was living there[:)]

Thank god he is 12 now and just wants to sleep and be fed!! [:D]

You getting back into the swing of things with the training and putting the effort there. Well done Kitty!

nodumbelle -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Mar. 1 2007 19:57:07)

It's frustrating isn't it, when you think your plans are going right on track ie/ an early night - then you end up having so little sleep that you're something akin to a zombie the next day!

Your training looks to be going really well - Yeeha!

When d'you think you'll be posting the 'before' pics? Or will you leave it until 'midway' pics. I'm going to have to pluck some courage up to post mine, but I'll do it - I think........maybe just chop the head off so I can remain anonymous [:D]

Carry on the good work Kitty [;)]

kitty -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Mar. 1 2007 21:05:36)

Paul, he's 6. I did have his brother but sadly we lost him 2.5 years ago. LMAO @ that crow story[:D]

Let the sparrow go but I was a little concerned as it was very very sparse in tail feathers. I hope it's ok[:(]

Thanks NDB, I've not loaded them onto the comp yet so I don't know how 'bad' they are[&:].

Good session at the gym despite being completely knackered.

Deadlifts, chins, weighted hypers rather than a rowing exercise (taking advantage of the hyperextension machine which our gym is lacking)

EZ curls & conc curls

40 mins on cross trainer

Had sore quads all bloody day, didn't help having to walk up 7 flights of stairs to hand in my assignment[&:]

Food same as yesterday apart from evening meal was chicken salad with a little garlic & chilli relish[:)]

Weigh in day tomorrow although I was naughty and got on the scales this morning and there has been no drop. However, I feel that something is happening as my lower belly bump is feeling like it is drooping less[:'(][:D]

nodumbelle -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Mar. 1 2007 21:58:48)

Hey - that muscle you're putting on weighs more then the fat you're losing [:D]
Seriously, you know truck loads more regarding the weight management side of things then me!
Found a new way to add a little more cardio into the daily routine. It's something I always thought looked a bit poxy - one of those mini steppers that has the side action. I use it whilst I'm ironing - three children means lots of ironing! So I can get a 'boring as hell' chore done along with 30/60 mins of stepping - now you can pick yourself off the floor and stop laughing [:D] I got mine in Argos, they do the Reebok one with cable attachments so you can add in some presses/ lat/ front raises etc - they're also throwing in a gym ball for free.

mafiapinkdog -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Mar. 2 2007 0:22:21)

Hi Kitty, really enjoying your journal, Ive started this year with a head injury, no fault of my own and still not able to train properly because of whiplash injuries in my neck. However Im trying to nail my diet which is going well so far. Seeing what amazing stuff you did before, im finding it quite inspirational. I have quite a lot to lose to get back to the weight I was, about 1 1/2 stone, 2 if Im really going for it. Im feeling quite positive despite the lack of training. Knowing you've lost a lot of weight before and had such a determined attitude and reached your goal, im taking inspiration from you....so dont let me down girl!!!! (only joking!!)[:D]

kitty -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Mar. 2 2007 6:36:31)

LOL NDB, that's what I keep telling myself[;)]

MPD, sorry to hear about your injuries. Hope you recover quickly. I'll try not to let you down just skip the rest of this post [&:])

Well as I suspected, no weight loss again. Not even one stinking measly half pound. Little strange as only 3 or 4 weeks ago I did hit 9st10 and didn't really do anything OTT that I thought would have put 2lbs back on let alone stay on for so long[:@]. This now puts me 2lbs behind target[:(] and to make matters worse, I'm having a 'fat day'

I know weight is not the be all and end all of it and I keep telling everyone else this, but it doesn't apply to me[:D] Goes to show that fat burners don't work peeps.....I'm on 6 per day now (mainly to help me keep awake and boy did I need them yesterday[&o])

Had a much better night sleep. Cat did sleep on my head but rather peacefully. I woke at 3.20am and thought how nice it was to have a little longer to sleep I put my head back down and decided to change position so I turned over and snuggled down and the alarm went off, somewhere I'd lost 1hr 40 mins[:D]

Anyway, we have a buffet lunch to look forward to today. Problem is it will all be sandwiches, usually very nice ones and sadly too nice to not over indulge so I'm going to have to be pretty strict with myself............................................

Can't believe I can't have a lie in tomorrow, what sane people make you go to study on a Saturday? At least I'm reasonable close to home, others are from Dorset and London so I shouldn't complain.

kitty -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Mar. 2 2007 9:57:43)

Can't believe that I'm here and still awake (at Uni). Only managed 20 mins on crosstrainer this morning as I could feel myself getting absolutely knackered and almost like passing out! Oh well, sat in ocmputer lab now that we're going to be in for the day and it's bloody roasting! Just hope I can keep my eyes open.

flick161 -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Mar. 2 2007 10:52:44)

Relish sounds lovely...

Be patient Kitty, you know the rules, if you can see the difference go with that... Otherwise you'll have me stepping on the scales when I shouldn't too!

Do you not think you could be gaining lean muscle hence no gain or loss? I think you're doing really well

gemma3000 -> RE: Kitty's taking the plunge (Mar. 2 2007 14:53:49)

Hiya Kitty,

Every day is a fat day for me [:D]

My Weight loss wasn t nearly as much I'd hoped for on my last Weigh-in.......Remember how much you said I'd changed, I couldn t see it but trust your judgement, The same does go for you [;)]

Keep the faith Girl, Your doin great !!!

Gemma(K)
