Thanks for stopping by Mook my man, was beginning to wonder if anyone actually read this...lol. First time I heard that song, sounds pretty good! Been listening to a lot of Jack Johnson lately, will probably buy his cd tomorrow. His music just makes me want to relax on the beach and forget about it all, you know?

Superbowl Sunday put my diet out of whack, was pretty bad. I'm just happy the Cheatriots, Shady Brady, and Bill Bellicheat LOST! 18 and 1!

Can't you tell from the above post, lol? The Giants! Not that I am a fan, I was just tired of hearing about the Patriots and their "perfect*" season. Everyone forgets that they got caught cheating multiple times and that Bill Bellicheck(cheat) is just an asswipe. Did you see the way he ran off the field after barely taking the time to shake hands with the other coach? Yeah, thats sportsmanship at it's finest . Most coaches stick around after the game and congratulate the other players and staff. I guess he just didn't want everyone to see him cry. That, and a guy I work with is a huge Pats fan so now I can rub his face in it for the next year!

Anyway, what I was messaging you about. As you can see a few days back I did Good Mornings 3x8 with 135 lbs. Since then my hamstrings have had the worst DOMS I have ever felt. I always thought it was a lower back exercise, so I was wondering if I did them right?

Deffinatly. It's a great lower back exercise, but it'll hit the hams something fierce too

Get a video next time. Could just be your low back is way stronger then your hams, so they're taking the brunt of the work

Since no one is offering advice any advice on my cutting diet I won't take the time to post it up. Today was O.K. but I overshot my target calories by about 200-300.

Today's liftage:
Low Box Squat- 3x5 @ 185 lbs (+10 lbs)
Bench- 3x5 @ 185 lbs (+5 lbs)
Pullups- 6, 4, 2

After my workout did Guerilla cardio on a bike, legs feel like jello. Max heart rate of 190 bpm!

lol @ the super healing ability. It looks much better, but it is still early to tell. I do have some fibrous scar tissue underneath the skin that needs to be broken up and re-absorbed before I can see the final results. I would say I am 80% happy with it so far. I think that if I get down to my goal bodyfat (10%) it will look great.

Just seen (and flicked through) this journal, I like the choice of routine. Basic and simple always wins. Also, glad your surgery went well, going by your pics I couldn't really see any gyno, but you know better than me!

Thanks guys!

I will post some more post op pics up soon, it has been a pretty big difference and my continued weight loss will only make it better. I am thinking of changing to Westside for Skinny Bastards as squatting near 80% of my max 3x week is starting to get to me. Also, adding cardio in is going to really start causing my problems. I want to work in ring/gymnastics training. Seems like a good new challenge and ring gymnasts have some good upper body development.

Well, time for a 1 week body composition update. I am now 180 lbs (from 186 lbs) and the caliper says I haven't lost any bodyfat but the mirror says otherwise. Started ECA today so hopefully that will give me a bit of a boost as well.

Today's liftage:
Squat- 3x5 @ 230 lbs (+5 lbs)
Overhead Press- 3x5 @ 125 lbs (+5 lbs)
Powerclean- 3x5 @ 115 lbs (+5 lbs, still getting form down)
Powerclean, Snatch, Push-Jerk practice with an empty bar

10 mins fast cardio on elliptical
10 minutes working the heavy bag
10 minutes stretch and cool down

Had to mix it up a bit

squats- 235 lbs x 3,2,5,5 (was supposed to be 3x5 but I royally ****ed up on the first set. Had to bail, strip the bar, and start over )
Bench- 3x5 @ 205 (+5 lbs)
Pullups- 10, 10, 7 ( losing 6 lbs helps a lot on these )

Guerilla cardio on bike, 15 min stretching/cool down

My advice would be a VERY loosely based Westside-style routine. Something like I'm gonna be doing after my meet:

One day do an ME lift, one heavy assist exercise, and lighter ones after depending how you're feeling.
Other day do some kind of assistance based on hypertrophy, moderate assist exercise, and lighter ones

Example week:
Floor Press 1rm
Closegrip 3x5
Pushdown 3x12
Row 3x8

Low Box Squat 1rm
Rack Pull 3x3
Pullthrough 3x12
Ab ****

DB Bench 5x8
Pause Bench 3x6
Dumbell OHP 2x12
Row

Squat (my fav is to pick a weight, and hit as many reps as I can, right before failure, for 15-20 reps)
Sumo Dead 3x5
Abs
Pulldown

Obviously that's a VERY loose example, and sets/reps/exercises can be changed everywhere. It's just something to consider really. I'm planning on doing that kind of thing after my meet; focusing entirely on listening to my body and hitting my weaknesses as hard as possible.
