Thanks man, looks like an interesting program. Right now I think I am running into the following problems:

1) The Starting Strength program I have been using is for beginner/novice lifters. Now I am by no means strong, but squatting heavy (well over bodyweight) 3x a week is probably not the best tactic.

2) I am trying to lose weight, so hard, intense heavy full body workouts are probably a little more than I can recover from while in a caloric deficit.

3) For some reason for supposedly being a "primal" movement squats just always feel awkward for me. I am having a little trouble "sitting back" into them, and my knees drift forward at the bottom. I was thinking box squats might help me with this. I also think I "dive bomb" a bit on the way down and lose all tension at the bottom, thus losing and "bounce" or "spring" out of the hole. Today's last set looked more like some sort of bastardized one-leg squat, one-leg calf raise, goodmorning clusterfuck.

Right now the main lift that is giving me grief is the ever unforgiving squat. I think the frequency of it combined with the Guerilla cardio is killing my legs and I never quite recover from one session to another. I am not going to count today's squatting as a "fail" since I did complete all sets/reps and just ****ed up on my first set. When I truly fail on squats I will ditch this routine for something a little more intermediate.

Worst day in a LONG time, and not just training

Barely got an hour of sleep last night, and managed to muck up my right shoulder somehow during the night. Woke up this morning to find out I hadn't lost any weight, but after some subtle hints from the other members here it isn't such a big deal as it was. Didn't do so well on my Anatomy and Physiology exam. Gym session was a total disaster (see below) I think I did well on my Math exam, so that is the only plus for the day.

Squat- 240 lbs x4 (FAIL!)
Bench- shoulder was ****ed
Pullups- too dejected and defeated after squats

Not sure if I should just call this an "off" day, or start a routine that isn't as taxing

Todays Liftage: Complete with Video

Squat- 3x5 @ 225 lbs
Overhead Press- 2x5, 1x4.75 @ 135 lbs (try again)
Powercleans-3x5 @ 135 lbs (stay and perfect form)

Guerilla cardio on bike followed by short stretching session...I was wore out!

Note- Squats felt heavy for some odd reason, I think I discovered I lack explosiveness in my lifting. Like, it is much more of a struggle than it should me. Overhead press I just couldn't lock out the last rep. Cleans, well, I still suck at them...but I'm trying!

I love it when that happens.
it can be done with knees too, though that's for the more advanced practitioner of, what translates as "the art of producing injuries by merely sleeping". I forget the Japanese, but it ends in "jitsu"

That actually looks really cool and is only about 30 mins from my house. I will look into it and see if I can get the day off at least to go and watch.
