Lol!

Those pull ups will have been fun! How did you get on?

banging out 120 chins in 20 mins is good work, let along when super setting them with thrusters.

Yesterday i did as many sets of 3 reps on chins as i could in 15 mins

got in 20 with +15kg. I enjoy this sort of training - keeps the intensity up. I did the same with decline CGBP and reverse hypers too.

Had another good fun session today

med ball smash x5
sandbag OH throw/press x5
80cm box jump x5
plyo push up x5
30m sprint

repeated this quite a few times!

I defenatly enjoy mixing my sessions up. I think this is why i never stick to any one sport as i just like training and in many different ways.

Day 17

Missed day 11 to day 17
Got half just over way through 'Murph' and had to go home, an hour later I was in bed and was there for 2 days. God knows what virus I had but it ruined my bank holiday - still feel really washed out.

I have no scales at home and wasn't in clinic today so I popped down the gym to weigh myself

Weight change at near to full hydration:
(To the nearest 0.5kg)
Thursday: 83kg
Today: 78.5kg

Did some really easy bodyweight movements just to keep moving so not taxing
3 sets of 5 pulls
2 sets 8 dips
and some hip range of motion drills.

Despite still feeling below par it actually felt really good, though they would do at this weight!

Cheers fellas,

yeah as you can see I didn't get on very well!

It was an odd day, woke up feeling fine did some work, met a few clients and then but my concentration fell off and by the afternoon my spelling was 100 times worse than normal, then mid way through WOD my body just seized.

B'Buda actually I was amazed how easy the p-ups were on the p-up/thruster session. It wasn't the strength endurance that was the problem (any more than it usually is), it was just the session is designed to be a lung buster with the thrusters not letting you breath properly.

Hopefully back to somewhere near normal training tomorrow.

Sounds nasty mate, my friend had something similar the other week that wiped him out for a couple of days and then just seemed to disappear, very odd. Anyway glad to see you getting back to normal.

Actually felt really good later in the day so as I'm not going to make Aikido tonight I also went to the park and did

10 rounds of
5 pull-ups
10 press-ups
15 squats

One round per minute, so you get about 25 seconds rest after the 1st round then 22ish on the second, 20ish on the third and it gradually decreases until you're just going and going

Plus

4 rounds of
8 dips
8 reverse rows to chin

Nice to get out and train in the sunshine.

Day 18

Thank the lord, some deadlifts.

WOD "Diane"

21-15-9 reps of:
225 pound Deadlift**
Handstand push-ups

Time: 11.14

Sweaty a feck.

Also did

Rows/pull to chin
External rotations
Serratus push ups and
a whole lot of swearing when I dropped the 20kg plate on my thumb.

**Edit: I forgot, coz I am a tough guy I did 120kg instead of the prescribed 100kg

Hello mate,

actually HSPU's are pretty easy once you have the hang of them, remember the load might be heavy but the range of motion is pretty short, my triceps tend to be the strong link and so it helps here given the range you're working through.

At any rate, they're a lot easier than doing a 120kg deadlift 21 times!

I didn't do them all at once not at 80kg bodyweight! I broke it up into a couple of sets with about 20 seconds rest between.

More fun and frollicks !

Nice repost to my last post in that thread. Good stuff! As you may have guessed I am more on the fence of that issue, but with my legs dangling on the opposite side to yourself

Keep forgeting to ask what does WOD stand for "Workouts of death" is the only logical thing I could cme up with.

Ha! Thats about right but it's Workout Of the Day (as far as I know!)

Yeah, it's an interesting topic the thing is many people get cought up in the studies, they just post away with first no thought for the quality and design of the study then no thought as to how science works. People also don;t reaslise PeriWO nutrition can have no carbs in...

I have really swung away from trying to ustify what works with science - there's too many pubmed cowboys about, I just do what works, improve my athletes conditioning etc and keep my head down and my ear to the ground.

Shame it went the way it did it was a good discussion hence my raising it with James and not just locking it right away.

Anyway....
