Afternoon all

Had a strange experience about an hour ago. Started to shake uncontrollably and sweating...had a Snickers bar and also a Toffee Crisp (there goes the diet) and am starting to feel a little better.

Could this be because I have gone cold turkey with the alcohol or maybe all I needed was the sugar boost that I got?

Anyway I have got a checkup in my new doctors tonight and I am (for once) looking forward to answering the, "How many units of alcohol do you consume in a week" question

Good back session last night. My wife had to work on and so I decided to do a quick half hour of cardio aswell. Interval training on the exercise bike. Feeling amazing this morning.

On the alcohol front my mate came over my house last weekend and so I bought him 4 cans of Carling....(as you do). Three of the said cans have been sitting in my fridge all week and I have not been tempted once. Even though they are lovely and cold and sweet and close to heaven Only joking.....

Chest and Shoulders tonight

Good session last night. Shoulders are aching nicely this morning. I haven't trained my shoulders for well over a year due to alcohol and lack of motivation and so they are feeling it today. I find that my chest doesnt seem to feel as worked as other areas and so I am going to have to mix up my chest workout I think.

Arms and Legs tonight and a nice rest on the weekend. Sorry for the lack of detailed training logs but I train 4 sets of 8 reps. That is about as detailed as you are going to get I am afraid

Good on the alcohol front again...not at all tempted by the cans in the fridge. Feeling really positive and confident now that I will never drink again.

Try supersetting your incline bench with flyes - my chest is still feeling it today!

Morning ladies. Good weekends I hope.

Well I managed to pass a milestone on the weekend. I went to watch the footy (a performance that was enough to turn a vicar to drink) and didnt touch a drop of alcohol.
I was tempted last night (argument with the wife and bottle of wine in the fridge) but I managed to resist.

Back session tonight and looking forward to it. I can see the fat dropping off at the moment and I am loving it.

Good morning.....Liverpool beat Chelsea..all is well with the world

Cycled into work today...knees are fecking killing me but a nice but of early morning cardio to start the day. Bloody chain fell off and I haven't put one of them back on since I was 10

Shoulders and Arms tonight. Starting to really get into this training again...it's becoming an addiction which is a damn sight more bearable than alcohol

I will post up some more detailed measurements tomorrow as I want to really track my progress

Cheers

Wow, thought I'd better check in as I've been lazy with the journals lately - and you're doing so well.

All of the battles are being overcome at the minute mate and seems to be really paying off.

Lol at the chain falling off - wouldn't know where to start with fixing it!

Cheers Lise. I am feeling the most positive I have for 7 years and am making some good gains.

Went to my mates house last night to watch the footy and he had stocked up on alcohol free Becks for me...what a man!

Bless, proper mates that is. You need em like that and it just shows you can socialise and enjoy every aspect of life in the same way without alcohol.

When I say "you can" I actually mean You. Not me...................

Morning all

Well that was the first bank holiday weekend in about 9 years that I didnt touch a drop of alcohol. Went out for the rugby league aswell and managed to abstain. To be honest with you it was easy.

Definately seeing the benefits of not drinking and training hard. Bodyfat is dropping off and cycling into work is becoming easier and easier.

Big Back session tonight. Going to increase the intensity of the workouts...drop the reps and increase the weight for a while.

1 month sober WOOHOO!

This is the longest I have been without a drink for about 8 years. The last time I reached a month I had a drink to celebrate and went back downhill.....work that f*cker out??!!

Cycled into work again this morning so my cardio has increased by 100% Starting to see major weight loss and apparently my bum has gone (the wifes words not mine).

Back session last night....changed routine to 4 sets 1x12...1x10...1x8...1x6. Trying to shock my body for a month or two and then I will change again. Variety is the spice of life and all that.

Hope you are all well....respect

Cheers man.

I feel a million times better thanks mate. Cycling into work now which is a thing that I would have never been able to when drinking. Training intensity has hit a high and the gains are already visible. Thank f8ck for muscle memory

The positive thing drinking wise is that I have been to three or four sporting occasions where I would have usually been trolleyed and have stayed sober.

Cheers
