Hey up Thanks for popping into my journal! I feel bad for not posting up on other folks pages as much as I would like, but I seem to always be chasing the clock - I'm needing another 24 hrs in the day...along with everyone else

Choo chooo!!! "Train"-ing is nothing worth writing home about right now Mr Jedi, hence me not noting it down. I'm still a bit all over the place to be honest.

I am a big fat blob and I've even had to undo the zip on my skirt a bit this morning. The UKBFF Leeds show is 23 and a half weeks off though and I always lose fat on my stomach quite quickly (legs don't seem to be any different after my wilderness weeks) so I think I should be ok if I start again. Might have lost a bit of strength though. Still haven't heard back from NABBA so dunno about that show, but it'd be 22 and a half weeks off. Think my problem has been trying to listen to too much advice and take on board stuff that everyone has said to me. I think if I'd just done what I intended to in the first place and started dieting after Christmas I'd have been fine, but that's when different people started telling me different things. The last few weeks is entirely my own fault though: I've been fed up and stressed and not had the motivation to train properly, and when I'm fed up I want carbs. And I don't have anyone here to keep me on track or spur me on, so if I lose my willpower I'm stuffed. Once I'm home I'll have my mum there to force me out to do cardio when I can't be bothered and remind me how much I want this when I want food. To be honest I'm normally very good about eating, and I should be fine once my life is back on track as I'll be home with my friends and family and won't need food as a friend-substitute. This week some of my chicken has been substituted with pheasant and rabbit as I'm running my freezer stuff down before I move. Will also be having smoked salmon instead of normal stuff for a couple of nights as there's a pack of that to eat too. Have been drinking loads of coffees with milk (2 or 3 a day) and not weighing my oats in the morning and have had a couple of binges. Feel poo.

Chin up little tickle. It was always going to be a big ask to go through the upheaval of the move and keep strictly to the straight and narrow. I did think it was kind of an ideal time to forget about the gym and switch to solely cardio based training you don't need to travel for, such as walking and jogging. However, I know this is easy to say and harder to do. You do NOT want to throw away all the work you've already put in though, so it is good that you're feeling guilty I am sure you'll redouble your efforts once you are settled ...especially if you are now bringing yourself within butt-booting range of certain females on here

This would probably have made much more sense! I just couldn't give a monkey's at the mo about training though, which really isn't me. I even fell asleep for a few hours during the day last Saturday which really isn't me - even my landlord commented on it. It's like my body (and brain) has just given up. I know I've got some good @rse-kickers in the form of Kitty, Tan and mum once I'm home though.

If you're moving home, stick with Kitty, try one approach this time. Decide the following initially: 1) How long you're going to diet for in total (you could prob get away with 16 weeks IMO) 2) How much carbs/proteins/fats you're going to have 3) How much cardio you plan to do initially (and whether you need morning cardio at this stage) 4) How many days a week you'll train 5) How often you'll take progress pics and weigh yourself Whatever those decisions are, stick to them! Also plan a time to re-assess how you've gotten on so far to evaluate the process as a whole. I usually look at my diet and cardio every 4 weeks to see if I need to make any changes. My changes go in this order: 1) change in diet from same carbs to carb cycling 2) upping cardio PWO 3) morning cardio 4) extra cardio day on one of my days off 5) inclusion of fat-burners into my diet 6) zero carbs (except oats a.m. and PWO Shake) -Only in severe cased, I did it for 2weeks at teh end of last season in the run-up to the NPA Finals So I know when my weight loss stops I need to implement the next stage. I'm methodical you see and had too much time on my hands off-season! I'm luckily only in Stage 1) at the moment, but I foresee morning cardio coming in by the next time I see Karen, if not before...

I'm different to you Flick and would rather start with morning cardio as I don't particularly like the thought of knowing I've got cardio left to come once I've done the weights, especially legs. I also feel I get more fat burnt off that way too. I suppose it's easier for me as I can get up at my leisure more or less and do it as I don't have to face up to going to work. Nothing wrong in being methodical either, helps a lot I find and helps keen you going when the brain gets fogged.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not sating my way's best, I'm just giving an example of how to look at things... and that you HAVE to be organized. I know Ticcy'll be fine if she just follows yours' n Tan's advice, that's plenty I LOVE morning cardio, but having to already get up at 6am for work and not stop until I get home at 7.30pm, I'm trying to delay it as long as possible by doing other things first. Cardio's always been in after my workouts, regardless of whether a.m. cardio goes in or not... Just seems logical for me and I know by the end of my workout I'll be wiped n sleep like a baby! Off to do Legs n Cardionow as it happens

I'm a methodical list-maker kind of person too so that approach will deffo be the best for me. Where I fall down is listening to what everyone tells me, as obviously I know sod all about what I'm doing. So when I got stuck with the same diet for 3 months and it was having no effect I stuck with it as I thought the people dealing with me knew best, not thinking that maybe they had just completely forgotten about me chomping away on the same thing for yonks. Then every time I'd get into it and finally be into a routine of morning cardio and whatnot, someone would bring me right down by telling me I had no chance of doing a show this year, whether it be because I didn't have enough muscle/have far too much fat/haven't got the right shape blah blah. Money being tight hasn't helped either. If I'd had the money to see the people training me a few times a week they'd probably have shown more interest in me, but as I could only afford a weekly session it meant I was kind of forgotten about and would have to pester them for ages and go through loads of re-arranged appointments to get them to look at me/redo my diet/whatever. I never even got shown my progress pics and when they did look at me it was perfunctory and rushed so I never quite knew what was going on. On the rare occasions me competing was mentioned, they could never remember what show I wanted to do or how far of it was. They probably knew exactly what they had in mind for me but it would've been nice if they'd let me know what was going on too. I think normally (if I'd been at home with my friends' support etc) I'd have been able to ignore all the people telling me I couldn't do it, but being on my own down here with no friends and no-one to talk to has really knocked my self-confidence. If I were at home I'd be able to moan to a mate that such-a-person has said such-a-thing and they'd make me feel better and help me to shrug it off, but being stuck miles away from anyone I knew has made me kind of brood about things until I convince myself of my own cr@pness. Yes, my mates are just a phonecall away, but you can't give someone a hug down the phone. So stuff all the doubters from now on, I'm going home! Ideally I'd like someone like James to do my diet so it's written down and I can stick to it, and once I'm home and have more moolah again that may be a possibility. That, along with a bit of butt-kicking from the northern girls, and I'm sorted!

Flick wasn't criticising you at all, just saying I prefer mornings but if I was in your shoes I would be doing exactly the same as you an doing cardio after work. Being home all day does have some advantages TT, no disrespect to the people who have helped you but they do not sound like they have offered you the support that you really needed. Fortunately I only ever listened to one person (Big Les) and if ever someone suggested something to me I liked the sound of I would always run it by him and he would explain why it would not be good for me or if he thought worth looking at then we would adjust accordingly. I never changed anything without him 'authorising' it so he knew exactly what I was doing and for how long and the relevant progress monitored. I think you'd be on the right track to see James if you can and Tania and I can kick your butt training.

I think you'd be on the right track to see James if you can and Tania and I can kick your butt training. Oh no, I know she wasn't! I know that I'll probably need to do cardio twice a day anyway to get rid of my lard; my morning cardio has only stopped because I've been so disheartened! I don't want to criticise the help I've had too much because they do really know what they're doing and I have learned some great things. I think maybe I'm just a bit high-maintenance: I like things being explained to me and I like structure; I'm not the sort of person who works well along the lines of, "We'll have a look at you next week." "Oh actually can we do it tomorrow?" "Oh I thought I said suchatime, sorry we'll do it another time," "Right, do this diet for a bit and we'll look at it again soon," and so on. I'm a bit OCD with routine so being chopped and changed and shifted about doesn't suit me. I think I'd be most suited to having a plan for the whole diet so I know what's coming - not necessarily the actual diet, but a strcuture as in, "Right, week 1-4 we'll do blah, then we'll change it for weeks 5-whatever," so I have a vague idea of what the overall plan is. James would probably be ideal for me in that sense: there's structure to doing it all by email and phone. Looking forward to the impending butt-kicking!!!

Am polishing my arse kicking shoes and if you want me to enlist the help of Little Legs for your comp prep I will be more than happy to ask him He has alot of time for you and isn't as scary as he looks . Just don't worry about things right now. It's just not the time and it will be so detremental to your health which won't help matters either. I'm probably not the best person with advise but I think I'm a good butt kicker and will always give you an honest opinion even if it's harsh. Chin up chuck. Tie up your loose ends down there and then get excited about your new journey! x

Raaaah!!!!!!!!!! I'm back!!!! Oh yes. Feeling gooood today! My couple of weeks of eating poo has done me the world of good - I'm sick of eating rubbish as I feel sluggish and knackered, and I've got any cheats out of my system. And I've emailed James and am going to let him kick my butt diet-wise. Tan, all help is appreciated to get me into some semblence of shape: especially from the fabulous Mr George, his advice is always splendiferous and you're both always very welcoming and helpful. Plus I'll be able to giggle to myself about getting PG Tips! I'm going to carry on mucking about for the next couple of weeks while I move, but will try and get back into a bit more cardio to get rid of the flab I've acquired round my stomach and clean my diet up properly. Then once I move I've got 21 weeks till UKBFF Leeds. Am all enthused again! Had a lovely day at SENI yesterday anyway: nice to see Flick and Annie and rest of the BNBF lot who were there, and I got to meet Crow for the first time. Lovely bunch. The comp was a bit mad but I'll save my comments about it for the thread that I imagine will appear at some point. p.s. I love my new haircut.
