LOL, I knew someone would ask that. If you eat carbs your body will use them for the energy so that your protein goes to the muscle rather than be used as an energy source. It's a saying Vicky always uses. It's finding the right balance of carbs that's the key so that you don't then take too many that could cause a weight increase.

Boy that's a crap explaination

No that's a very good explanation thank you madam and makes a lot of sense! Will see how a few days of the above diet goes and then maybe whack som carbs in at 1000 and 1600 too if I'm doing ok, maybe a couple of ricecakes or something. Cheers luv.

You don't need a HUGE amount, small amounts more frequently work well for me. For example, I have 30g oats in morning, 150g cooked rice at next meal, small baked spud for lunch, 150g cooked rice next meal and at the mo I leave it at that. If I'm not cutting I'll have more later in day.

Oooh good point! I'd love to meet her too, she sounds like a right loon (in a good way, like us!) on the phone!

I'll make a point of blowdrying my new barnet properly especially for you lot so it looks its most fabbest next Sunday.

Anyway ate clean again yesterday apaprt from 2 coffees and did some fannying around with my girly DBs at home, plus a load of packing which counts as cardio.

Even off-season the highest I go up to myself is 50g (uncooked weight) rice in each meal except my evening one (prob bout the same as Kitty's 150g) so it's not loads, and really nowt to be scared of chick

Plus eating carbs will also stop the cravings and thus binges that you've been having. Also, if you work out the amount of carbs you eat in a binge it probably comes close to your coarb consumption for the week... Believe me I know

You're right actually, those binges were carb-tastic if I think about it!

Although to be honest I haven't been bingeing out of hunger, more from feeling sorry for myself. I'm having 20g rice at the mo so I'll probably up that to 30g and add carbs to other meals too.

Cheers chuckies.

Phoned Paul Jeffreys from NABBA last night who told me the UK show in September is indeedy open and is a qualifier for the Britains the following year. Am sorting my entry out for that then!

He also told me Dorian Yates is going to be at the North-East show the week after the North-West. Sounds like it'll be a good show from what he was saying, might try to get up there depending what I've got on.

That very nearly counts as training.
Come to think of it, I see plenty at the gym who do less.

No no no no no Come to Barnoldswick to Pendle Valley show. Fab little show and more local than traipsing all way up to Geordie land. Paul and Tania are going to that too as one of the guys from their gym is entering.

Actually I've heard that last year's was absolutely rubbish*!!!

Gary Lister's doing a load of the NABBA qualifiers this year I think isn't he? Mum'll be pleased anyway, she's rather fond of him to say the least. I remember her getting a bit over-excited a few years back at Mr Wigan when he did the guest spot so we'll have to gag her or summat next weekend.

Anyway I now have a draft diet from James which I'm very pleased with as it looks like lots of lovely food compared to what I've been eating recently, and there's lots of fruit and veg, which I don't think I've been eating enough of recently. Only a couple of bits and bobs that will be extra to my shopping too so will suit my food budget. Will start it when I've been to Tesco tomorrow to get used to it, even though I'm not starting it "officially" just yet. Thanks James!

On a bad note, I weighed myself yesterday as my boss had scales in work for some reason, and according to them (although I dunno how accurate they are) I've managed to put on 5lb in my few weeks of naughtiness.

Will behave from now on and start doing morning cardio again.

*Only joking Paul, don't beat me up or owt.

She bloomin' will as well, she's like some daft hormonal teenage girl or something!

I've had a spiffing bank holiday weekend anyway, my last one in St Albans. I went out with a friend on Friday night who I've not seen for yonks and had a good gossip; then on Saturday I did a load more packing, went to Tesco and distributed some BNBF posters. Then on Sunday morning my cousin came down to visit so we did loads of things I've meant to do while I've been here but haven't because I've had no moolah or friends to go with. Sunday day we went to the Roman museum and lozzed about in the park next to it; Sunday night we went out for dinner then got absolutely smashed it town and danced round to a band in one of the bars.

First time I've had a drink this year except for a couple of glasses of wine in February so I thought I'd give myself a good send off (plus she'd come to visit to get away from the boyfriend of 6 years she's just split up with and reeeeally needed a girly drunken night out) - we drank 3 bottles of champagne. I'm amazed I kept upright for as long as I did considering in the last year I've been drunk about 3 times and only touched alcohol in any form about 6/8 times.

Then yesterday we went to Hatfield House and walked all round the gardens and the house and had a cream tea and went for a ride round the grounds in a horse-drawn carriage and sunbathed in the grounds. Bliss.

Anyway apart from the meal on Sunday and the cream tea yesterday I've kind of got myself into the groove of my new diet and am raring to get back to the gym when I get home.

Good for you Tic!

Once you nail the diet, I am sure you will find everything comes together a hell of a lot easier!
